Before President Trump 47 took office I didn't believe in this UniParty thing. I thought the GOP was the loyal opposition as in opposed to the mafia democrat absurd and dangerous policies.

Cradle Catholic here. I agree with your statement - the Catholic Church has had bad Popes in the past and she will have bad Popes in the future. Remember, the man who betrayed Jesus, broke bread with him the night before he was crucified. Satan wants that Chair of Peter. While I was thrilled the College of Cardinals elected an American to the Chair of Peter, I was disappointed this Pope did not move to separate himself from Papa Bergoglio's radical policies - especially his "Seamless Garment of Synodality" absurdity. An absurdity he borrowed from the Anglican Church. Absolutely, Jesus hung around with the marginalized, the tax collectors, the prostitutes, BUT he also demanded these people STOP sinning.

But alas, the Catholic Church is made up of men, and mankind has been plagued with this scourge called sin ever since Eve listened to the serpent and ate of the fruit of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

In a move motivated by love for creature man God choose to enter into time and space and die for us. He came for all mankind. Sometimes we (me included) need to focus on that Truth - Jesus came for all of mankind and the more wretched the sinner, the more heaven rejoices over the hardened sinner who repents. God's love and mercy really is unfathomable.

I shall never forget my dear priest friend Father Santos Mendoza when he climbed back into my car after spending two hours hearing the confession of a penitent woman. He was so excited to hear her repentance and confession he blurted out to me,"XXXXX, Jesus caught a Big Fish today". I miss him.
