Curious about these. Don’t they only come with the 4 cylinder unlike the other broncos? Maybe down the line as you really put it through some shite and put miles on it, you could do an OB thread on it
Yep, 2.3L Ecoboost with 300 hp. Only model that comes with a snorkel & winch. It’...
my corvette is best corvette because it was the only one they made with the Grand Sport package in Carlisle Blue with cobalt red interior on Wednesday, February 15, 2012
Even after I bought my ‘23 C8, I still missed my Sebring Orange ‘19 C7 Grand Sport. I’ve just never seen one in ...
Holy shite, glad he didn't tag you there. I've spent so much time in West Texas, I have seen hundreds of WDB but I have never seen a black-tailed rattlesnake, I guess I was just north of their range.
That one definitely could’ve tagged me more than once if he wanted to… but if he...
That last one is about the size of a canebrake rattler I saw on the road one time in north Webster Parish. You should take a roll through there and catch some of those because they're absolutely beautiful. I let that one go so he's still there. Head like a fist on him.
I need more ...
I would be so worried, that my kids, or I would not hear the rattle of the rattlesnake. It’s one of my biggest fears.
One of the black-tails I caught was under rocks and started rattling as I walked by. If he hadn’t, I never would’ve known he was there. [img]https://i.postimg.cc...

A few other assorted reptiles and amphibians (don’t hold me to these names - I don’t know my lizards/frogs that well). Great Plains skink (juvenile): Great Plains skink (adult) [img]h...

If there’s one species synonymous with Texas, it’s the Western diamondback rattlesnake. On the West Texas leg of our trip, we caught 3 WDBs, though all were relatively small - but feisty. Couldn’t really free handle these like we could the Northern black-tails. [img]https://i.postimg.cc/4xTK8R4Y/...

So the trip began rather unceremoniously - my buddy and I arrived south of San Antonio a day before the rest of the guys to hit a road where my Floridian friend once caught 8 Western diamondback rattlers in one night. Unfortunately, storms hit the area right before we began, so the only snake of th...

West Texas herping trip

Finished up my 11 day romp through Texas last Friday - finally have time tonput a thread together (and will put together another thread for the non-scaly creatures & sights). Accompanied by one of my childhood friends (who doesn’t really herp but enjoys nature), I teamed up with a guy from Florid...
Slidell is a meth town
I lived in Slidell for 17 years (moved in 2020) and still couldn’t tell you where the “bad” parts are. Slidell has lots of middle/upper middle class neighborhoods and a few full of $1mil+ homes. In the course of normal daily Slidellian activities, never did ...
I've done the rattlesnake roundup tour a couple of times .... but with good tags. There's some great restaurants and peopke along the trail. I started feeling sorry for the rattlers though
Yeah, I’ve never been interested in that type of event. We find stuff, handle it for a few ...
I’m just kidding - just like people, some are nice and some are a-holes. 3 of the Western diamondbacks we caught were pissy, but the monster one didn’t rattle or strike a single time. The black-tailed rattlers tend to be more docile in general, but 3 of the 5 were easy to handle....
Never bitten by anything venomous (yet). The guy I was herping with in West Texas last week got tagged by a Trans-Pecos copperhead over there a few weeks ago. He didn’t seek treatment - just swelling in his hand for a couple days. Another buddy got tagged by a black rattlesnake in Arizona yesterd...

re: MASSIVE Western Diamondback

Posted by TigrrrDad on 7/23/24 at 10:14 am
The Eastern Diamondbacks in Florida are a lot less common than the Western Diamondbacks in Texas, which are pretty widespread. In April I hit a hot spot for EDBs in South Florida for 2 days with no luck, but after seeing a dead one on the road we stayed an extra day and went all in on finding one - ...

Drove without a license plate to West Texas for 10 days to catch rattlesnakes. Traded in the Vette for a new Bronco a month ago in Mississippi (I live in La.), and they don’t give temporary tags. In my short time there, I was pulled over 3 times and on another occasion was followed by Border Patrol ...
