The Safdie bros, all though this time just Benny it looks like, make some of the most depressing & exhausting movies around. They’ve all been really solid, but I’ve never once wanted to watch one again lol. Similar to aronofsky films in that respect.

What a terrible PL season this was.

I’ve tried to stay away from this thread because my constant negativity would’ve become unbearable, but the entire club is really testing me, and I think I might break.
I’ll still tune in to local sports talk occasionally. I haven’t listened to FM radio since I was a teen in the 90s.

Leather iPhone case alternatives?

Posted by PhilipMarlowe on 4/27/25 at 4:29 pm
I’m still on an iPhone 12, and decided to finally upgrade to the 16, but just realized the Apple cucks stopped making their leather cases which I loved. They did a good job of drop protection, while still remaining slim and understated.

It looks like all they offer now is their silicone case. Do the silicone cases protect the phones as well as the leather ones did? Do they have that similar plastic ridgid insert on the edges, or is it sort of unstructured and bendable? If yes, I’ll just switch to the silicone.

Feel free to toss in any other brands that produce leather cases with at least equal drop protection of the old apple leather cases.
 it didn’t click for me until the last line.
I support this purely based on the noise those fricking things put out.

Got a kick out of the little impromptu dance-off during the night patrol towards the OP

I laughed hard at this.
Played hooky again today for a lunch time viewing. Thankfully no old timers in the seats lol, in fact I was the only one in the theater.

When they start firing off rounds inside the building, I think it was the mk 48 (I don’t know guns), it was so loud and deep I could feel my chair rattle. I also agree with your take on the opening. I thought it was an efficient & effective way to introduce the characters.

This thread will have a number of “Christians” celebrating this news. SAD. :casty:

Probably the best thing on TV in the past several years. Or at least in the running for being the best.

ETA: I will say that I think Noah Wyle has been exceptional in it.
I’ve been binging this show over the last few days, and I’m enjoying it, but there are a lot of preachy/woke storylines that are so ham-fisted & unnecessary. Keeps a good show from being a really good show.
