She actually graduated from George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville it only later merged with Vanderbilt
the point is she did graduate, as opposed to the myth she didn't

in one version of the story she told herself, she didn't even attend college, but lost her scholarship b/c she got a B in her HS Art class.

I guess she wanted sympathy

Woody Harrelson's (and maybe Mathew McConaughey's) dad was a professional hitman connected to the Kennedy assassination and convicted of assassinating a federal judge.

They have written this fact into his character on the HBO show Rooster. Not sure if they mentioned goalie but when he was asked to take over coaching the college team they mentioned he played college hockey.

ess Marilu Henner from Taxi fame has Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory (HSAM) or hyperthymesia. She can recall nearly every day of her life in vivid detail, including personal memories, weather, and clothing, dating back to her childhood. Only about 100 people in the world have this ability. Shows you what the human brain is actually capable of.

I saw the 60 minutes story about this. I can't even imagine what this would be like.

In the early 2000s, Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth became a state-licensed EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) in New York City, working over 200 ambulance calls, particularly in the Bronx. Seeking a challenge outside the "rock star bubble," he trained extensively and worked roughly 4.5 summers to gain humbling, real-world experiences. He reported that he was rarely recognized while on duty in the Bronx

That reminds me of this one.

Before he got his break in acting, Steve Buscemi spent four years as a firefighter in New York City. After the 9/11 attacks he returned to his old company, Engine Company 55 in Little Italy, and worked a week of 12 hour shifts digging through the rubble at Ground Zero.

Although Cleopatra was the queen of Egypt, she was ethnically Macedonian and traditionally spoke Koine Greek. Her family, the Ptolemies, had ruled over Egypt since 305 BC but never made any effort to learn the Egyptian language. Because she was bright and adept at languages, she was the first and only member of her family who learned how to speak Egyptian

Said judge’s death was mentioned as a recent event in No Country For Old Men, in which Harrelson played a hit man.

The Office alluded to it a few times as well. Speaking of which, BJ Novak (Ryan Howard)’s dad was the ghost writer of Lee Iaococca’s autobiography. He was a professional ghost writer. Which is apparently the reason the Office threw in a couple odd/random in jokes about Lee Iacocca, and (his failed invention, the Delorean).
