re: Would you be in favor of every traffic light in your city being replaced by a roundabout?

There is a double roundabout at one of the I-85 interchanges near me. They were built for two lanes but opened about a year ago with just one lane open.
They just recently opened the second lane in each, and even with signs and arrows painted on the road, I'm waiting for someone in the right lane to ignore the right/straight arrows and decide they need to go on around and smash into someone going straight in the left lane.

East Nashville, New Orleans East, East St. Louis, East Knoxville. Why do so many areas have "bad" areas to the east?

Isn't AI (Skynet) the overarching bad guy in the Terminator series?
Are androids a form of AI? If so there are dozens of examples from R2 and 3PO in Star Wars to Twiki and Dr. Theopolis in Buck Rogers.

Two of my uncles retired from BellSouth. Both spent a ton of time outside in the sun, but made good money doing it.
One retired and didn't want anything to do with twisted pair or fiber ever again. The other retired and moved to Orlando and ended up pulling/terminating Cat5 in hotels/condos that were being built there in the early 2000s and made a fairly comfortable post retirement income.

Didn't I see that Sellers isn't taking any classes this semester, just doing his sports management "internship" at a local driving range where he'll be "picking up balls and cutting grass"?
Last time we were there we stayed at the Hampton Inn downtown. Street address is Korean Veterans Blvd but it sits on 4th and you are 4-5 blocks from Broadway. It was clean, affordable, and easily walkable to everything. There is another Hilton property and a Hyatt Place on the same block if Hampton isn't your thing.
I think it would be the "right" thing to do, but money and name recognition are a powerful thing in the business. Would "The Billy Gibbons Blues Band" warrant the same guarantees from promoters? Would the draw be the same?
At one time, under an agreement with Ronnie's widow Judy, the name Lynyrd Skynyrd was to be retired when less than three longtime members of the band were still actively participating. The death of Leon Wilkerson brought them to only two, but they gave Judy a bigger cut and that agreement got torn up. Right now Skynyrd is without any original members (Ricky Medlocke doesn't count) and I think Johnny may be the longest tenured member. They are basically a high powered cover band, but the name is the $$.
I would hope if Billy keeps playing under the ZZ Top name he works out some kind of deal with the families of Frank and Dusty.

While morally abhorrent, chattel slavery wasn't as bad as history makes it out to be.
The slaves lived in better conditions in the American south than they would have in Africa or even in any of the European colonies in the Caribbean.
The physical abuse of slaves is greatly overstated. Did it happen, yes, but like today's combines and tractors, slaves were a capital investment in agricultural production. Just like you don't ignore the maintenance on a John Deere so that it breaks down, you wouldn't beat the shite out of a slave to the point that he or she couldn't work in the fields.

Title IX causes schools to cut some things like men's swimming teams that can be valuable in preparing our men for the Olympics.
The same could be said if women's teams that would get eliminated if college sports were not covered by Title IX. How many Olympic quality swimmers, divers, or track and field athletes have come through American universities?
With the implementation of NIL you have gymnasts who are able to train (albeit at something below an international level) for a couple of years between Olympic cycles and then ramp up the 12 to 18 months before.

I had never heard the story of Auburn greasing the tracks when G Tech was coming to play. Slid past the station by 5 miles. Had to walk back.
A classic cfb prank…. And Tech went on to lose the game, possibly from dead legs lol
Also the genesis of a long running Auburn tradition - the Wreck Tech Pajama Parade. When the two teams played annually, the Friday before the game in Auburn the students would dress up in pajamas and parade through town, ending at the old train depot for a pep rally.

The Louvin Brothers have to be high up there with that blood harmony.
The Statler Brothers and the most well known version of the Oak Ridge Boys were pretty good too.

tnaflix is still wide open. Or at least so I've heard.
I've loved SRV since hearing House Is Rocking and seeing him on Austin City Limits years ago. Happened to catch a PBS show a few years back that was him performing at Montreaux and was just totally blown away.
He had, to me, such a unique tone. I don't know if it was because he played such thick strings or what, but his tone is unmistakable. Even in something completely opposite of what he usually played, like his work on Let's Dance, that tone shines through.
