OpenAI CEO Sam Altman claims AI singularity has arrived
Elon thinks now that singularity is here, it will lead to a point of great prosperity where money won't even matter by 2036. So much so that he said yesterday he may pledge to give away his fortune by 2036.

It would be cool, though, if the trade and barter system made somewhat of a comeback. No welfare for the lazy with that system.

I’m still waiting for the AI gloves to be off. I’m afraid all privacy laws will be by passed and you can simply ask AI about a persons post history, emails, text messages, etc. I know the government can find anything they want but imagine the public being able to look up anything anyone has done or said.

Like the idea of the production of nearly everything becomes extraordinarily cheap. AI accelerates tech and makes energy cheap, incl renewables…everyone’s wealth increases, as a result.
Greed/envy for some to exploit in society will disrupt this naive utopia. Ownership concentration and political paths to distribution of wealth will live on.
Lots of wayward people if AI does all scientific research, engineering, medical diagnoses, legal analysis, business mgmt, and robots replacing physical labor.
Human purpose, envy/greed and the OT will be turned on its head for most but extra concentrated, I predict. Dystopia vs utopia? Fun times?

AI up to this point has only been used to replace human labor. Every convenience, every picture, every video generated, every code typed.
Meanwhile the ivory tower yells down to us that the singularity is reached! Rejoice! AI can now fully replace you!

I just read somewhere that his prediction about ad revenue for AI is 90% off. I wonder if that has anything to do with this. Got to keep the hype train running. Those data centers cost money. Don't want investors to jump off the hype train.
