That's more the outcome than the definition. "The Singularity" is the moment in which AI is capable of creating iterational improvements to itself. That first iteration doesn't actually have to be any smarter than humans. But, because AI can work focused, nonstop, in a way that humans can't, once an AI is capable of intelligently and intentionally improving itself, it will become much smarter than humans at some point in the future. Further, at some point, humans will no longer be able to comprehend the technology they rely on. But again, that's the outcome of the Singularity, not the Singularity itself.

I will be honest, im more interested in the small lightweight personal aircraft and how that factors into transportation in the future.
are we the jetsons? or are we crashing quadcopters all over the place
and as these things become more prevalent and available does that drive the top 20% to further separate from the bottom 80%? even if its 70/30
if one can get to the city without having to deal with traffic and very very quickly, that is gone to accelerate white flight like we have not seen since the 70s.
If those become things, you see really really nice subdivisions plus golf courses start popping up away from cities, kind of in the middle of no where possibly
also removes limits on how realistically close you need to be to the workplace. one could live in Lake Charles and work in Baton Rouge or Houston for example. or wouldnt be the ordeal it is today for someone in Ascension parish to work on the other side of the river.
are they self driving with Ai or what? lots of questions

I can't fathom our allowing small private aircraft without regulating them within an inch of their lives. With that said, your super-suburb paradigm is still easily attainable with extremely heavily regulated personal aircraft. Even if they weren't legal for private personal ownership and had to follow specific corridors, it would still be utterly world changing.

well if they are all AI driven...i would imagine it would be preprogrammed with some type of Nav software that keeps it under certain elevation, away from certain zones due to aircraft, keeps it at a certain elevation too etc

yea this is how i see it.
for example someone that can afford it and it was within a 20-30 min flite time would love to live at the beach or along water or in some super suburb away from all crime

While I wouldn’t rule out lying, because he’s a huckster, if I were being generous, I would say that he’s referring to an applied AI (like an LLM) being capable of consuming more data on its own to continue its training, thus improving it, without intervention.
If so, that’s fundamentally different than the intentional, intelligent iterational improvement required to be the Singularity. You can give an LLM all the time in the world to train, and it’s still an LLM, and it will always be an LLM, because it has zero concept of what an LLM is, or what else it could be. You’re never going to go from Multivac to Cosmic AC, if you’ll indulge a literary reference.
