re: Phil's Oyster Bar

A group of us from work go there for lunch frequently and it's mostly very good. They make their own fried pickles, which we always get as they're great. The Eggplant Owen is fantastic, as is the remoulade salad and the catfish poboy. The crawfish cheesecake is very rich but very tasty.

I'm not a fan of the Friday lunch special etoufee as it's with a white sauce, and the chicken and sausage gumbo is good but greasy. Those are personal tastes so ymmv.

Phil's is pretty great. Now I want some fried pickles.
I like their muff -- think it has carrots? It's not NO level but it's def good and a nice change w/o the drive and parking to get one in the big city.

Is that wrong?

Possibly. Red River acting as a buffer from Lower 3rd (Alexandria ghetto) is better than now with no buffer

I don't think anyone from Alexandria is limiting the ghetto to Lower 3rd these days.
The last assassination attempt left Trump with a remarkably intact ear from the impact of a .223 bullet. In fact it seems like he pulled a WWE move to cut his ear with a razor. So every "assassination" attempt now is suspect at best.

Get to Sweet Joy before noon on Saturday, it's bakery goods and sandwiches but it's pretty good.

Buckets is garb, and has been for me multiple times.

Outlaws can be okay just don't get the sliced brisket as it's beyond well done. It's gray all the way through and dry as Sunday morning in a Baptist church. The chicken, bakers, chopped brisket (you're going to have to add sauce because it's that dry,) sausage and fried onion loaf, along with the baked beans and green beans are probably what they're best at.

Quebedeaux's or however it's spelled is just okay. Wildwood Pizza and Spirits are across the river, although Spirits can be hit and miss according to what you get. The Judge's Choice is usually solid.

Google is now an advertising company

If by "lucky" you mean charging $800+ for Chinese suits, sure CenLa is super lucky. What would we do without Jerry Lee.

Just drive to Houston and go to the Brooks Brothers on Westheimer if you want a nice suit.
Hey the closeted gay guy is back:

No, it isn't a choice made daily. It's a temptation like any other. The devil knows what will be most effective on you. It isn't any worse or better than any other sin people indulge in.

Sorry the truth scares you."
I'm good. Insecure Indian racists are past my point of engagement.

I'll end this conversation by saying you're fricking nuts.
My ilk? I'm a white American man. Most likely whiter than you are.

We're all Americans bud. Americans shouldn't be killed on US soil by dudes in masks with guns.

Absolutely.

Haven't had their king cake but Sweet Joy makes some great breakfast food (esp. the croissants) and sandwiches.

It's really simple dude. I'm not tempted by people I'm not attracted to. There's no temptation to resist.

You on the other hand said that you have to resist that temptation. So you're rejecting how you were created. Again, hope you figure yourself out.

Gay guy here. If you're tempted with attraction to men, you're at the very least bisexual. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, lots of people are.

You seem to be projecting your own self-disgust for having those desires onto other people who don't share your hangups. There's a lot wrong with that.

Hope you figure yourself out.

Serious answer: au poivre

100%

One of the things I love about higher-end steak houses is that even if it's not on the menu, you can always ask "can the kitchen make an au poivre sauce with this?" and the answer is always "yes of course."
