I've only been to a male massage therapist once, when I had this gnarly knot in my back I couldn't get to release.
I didn't seek out to get massaged by a male, but he was the only one available and I was in a ton of pain.
Dude did a better job than any female therapist I've been to (no homo)

I generally prefer a woman. However, the best massage I’ve ever had was at the spa at the Ritz in New Orleans by a man who claimed he used to be Howie Long’s personal masseuse.

Same here. When he came out I thought "Crud" but went with it. He was very nice, professional and strong! He did great. If i could go back to him I would. That being said, I'd rather a random woman than a random man.

Female for me. GF and I once had 2dudes doing a couples massage after a 10 mile hike at Yosemite. Dude put his forearms into my hamstrings and I almost passed out. I like pressure but damn!

It doesn't matter to me, as long as they can dig in and do the work.
Pro tip: if you're at a resort in the south and decide to snag an impromptu massage, opting for either will make your scheduling options open up significantly. Buncha baws afraid they'll catch the gay if a man touches them, apparently.
