I think that's how it'll go:

Golem v MiY in the season finale, with MiY giving some dying utterance or scurrying off beaten, but "alive" and calling in the big dog(s).

MiY knows the overarching design/story at play, but it seems that the people in each iteration of the cycle are the wildcard/unknown for him/it.

Thus, he knows that his favorite part is "when they tear each other apart", but perhaps the mechanism/catalyst is different each time. That would keep the story/cycle from getting stale and keep the forest stocked with fresh nightmares and fear/hope to feed on.
