I think what you're referring to is probably sourced out of the desire of many Sikhs for a separate state, kind of like the Kurds. There's a bit of terrorism (in India) associated with it, but they don't look at all of us as infidels.
I'd chalk it up more to UK youth crime culture; the family trying to cover for the murderer is very Indian, though.
