It’s sad how many sundown towns still exist where people of no color aren’t safe to go at night and sometimes even during the day
Did y’all know there used to be a white Wall Street?

When I drive through the old neighborhoods that were segregated I notice all the roads are wide enough to drive like 8 cars on but as a person of no color I’ve always experienced tiny little roads that you could barely drive 2 cars on at the same time.
Separate but equal? Yeah right. It’s sad how people of no color have always been oppressed

As another Econ nerd, OP is correct. Think about haircuts. My haircut in the early 90s at a barbershop was $7. Per the inflation calculator, that’s $16 in today’s money.
$7 in 90’s money is like 1200 bucks now

Even in a place like Baton Rouge you gotta spend at least 250k to buy a house if you don’t want to get shot

That’s why these millenials need to stop eating avocado toast and tighten their belts and put money into ETFs so their elders can cash out
The next shell game in the us financial ponzi will be to tie social security to the market. I think it will be a necessity in the next 5 years because Gen Z can’t find jobs

Is this a joke? Wait times and service quality from hospitals and medical clinics are horrible.
You might think that you’re gonna die of your heart attack because you gotta wait 6 hours for them to treat the illegals with runny noses but you’re gonna live whereas you would’ve died 40 years ago and there are less nurses working to accomplish that goal because the hospital wants to pay the fewest people they can without getting sued for malpractice

Look at how the demographics of the us have gone off the rails since boomers have taken over in the mid 80s or so

We have moved from a country where the national guard would have to be called in for labor disputes to a country where you are shamed for not wanting to go to the dei meeting and learn pronouns

Pensions can fail
This is twofold
The dumbest finance kids become pension managers and other finance guys come around and get them to put the pot of money into bad investments or outright scams
The pension system had to fail because when every worker has to put their money into the stock market it has to go up

Sorry your people died at 65 like the actuaries predicted and mine won
When labor wins one small victory over capital, capital flips the chess board and moves the game to a different country with no laws. The consumer ends up with a washing machine that breaks in 3 years. Because nobody takes a stand against offshoring we end up with inshoring where half of texas is Hindu or muslim
You gotta pick your battles and it’s better to fight battles before they’re already lost
This is an economists opinion rather than a real life one
Patient to nurse ratio keeps going higher and higher, and even though the nurses complain the outcomes have been getting better over that time
Kids are less educated these days but teaching used to be a good job. The wages haven’t kept up with inflation
ETA: you can’t be like no not those service industries!! That’s not a fair argument

People don’t like to let their kids drive beaters anymore. When I was a teen, you were lucky to get a shitty S-10 or your grandpa’s old farm truck that didn’t like to start.
There are no beaters anymore because y’all allowed Mexicans to come to car auctions in America and drive them all back to Mexico in convoys
The reason our lives get worse and worse every year is because y’all look down on everyone for instance “why don’t the millenials drive s10s like Gen X did!!” Because we never have any kind of solidarity the corps pick us apart separately
