Despite our faults, this would never happen to my wife and I because we're oddly very diligent travelers, and also she's too much of a cheap skate to risk wasting the air fare.

My wife would never do this in an airport. She wants to get to the gate ASAP, then if there's time, she can get a drink or whatever, but I can think of multiple times that my wife has had poor time management skills. I've left her behind in the car before. I turned around to get her, but for a second, my point was made.

12 years ago, myself, my wife and MIL went on a 7-day cruise that left from Miami.

The day we were supposed to fly to Miami, me and my wife were ready. This was about 3 hours before departure time. My MIL kept dragging her feet as we were both telling her that we had to go! We finally leave, and sure enough, we missed our check-in time by 10 mins. So we had to get another flight, except instead of Miami, it was to Lauderdale, 45 mins.from the port of Miami. My MIL paid for the tickets and thankfully, we still got to the port in time.

But I have had experience w/this.

Which part? The cruise or the MIL?

My anxiety alone wouldn’t let me chance that. I’m that person at the airport hours ahead of time and having that coffee long before that.

That implies you intended to get on the flight

She, perhaps, not so much

Man is correct and I’m at the gate 90 min BEFORE boarding starts because I’m so nervous I’ll miss my flight.

The cruise or the MIL?

Both. Trapped on a cruise with two women? Sorry, I'd rather have to deal with a bunch of 20 year old Marines.

Your wife must be as mythical as you Sir Cluckster.

Because I could completely see this same scenario happening with my wife and I.

Accountability is probably not her strong suit

It’s completely lost on women. She is the victim.

On a side note the lines at the Starbucks in the airport were something else.

Idk, they were serving coffee on my delta flights. Seems unnecessary to wait at Starbucks.
