In hindsight, he should have said at the start, “I’m going to board and make sure we have overhead space and nobody tries to get our seats.”

Then when she didn’t get on before they shut the door, nobody could accuse him of deciding to ditch her.

That is our relationship, family, and friendship policy. Everyone is an adult and responsible for themselves if they decide to do something stupid. Applies to NOPD encounters in Mardi Gras. Almost cost my son in law an expensive uber ride down a mountain when he disappeared for a snack when he knew everyone was leaving. No doubt I or my husband would get on the airplane in this instance. Even to a romantic location or on a vacation.

Apart from the knowledge I will ultimately end up paying more money for her stupidity, I would have zero hesitation leaving. As a matter of fact, the incident would become an oft told story with a humorous outcome. The vacant seat next to me would be a wonderful bonus.

Good for the husband

The world doesn’t stop for the wife’s starbiezzzzz

Get in the plane or get left the frick at home

This is what happens when the woman is used to the man planning and doing every little thing for them, they have no spatial awareness and sense of urgency bc it’s always done for them

I would never have the balls to leave my wife behind unless it was an extremely important flight (wedding, funeral, etc)

Some situations require it. I have left my wife at a restaurant (warned her, paid bill, left her the car keys and departed when she went to the bathroom) when she just kept trying to publicly escalate an old argument.

There are standards of public behavior necessary to show respect to other people (eating, traveling, whatever) that include your spouse. Leaving behind a person making bad decisions isn't good but sometimes it becomes the lesser of two evils.

Coffee people as a personality are so weird, and I like coffee okay enough.

Had a work retreat a couple of months ago, and the next morning we had a drive from Fredericksburg back to the Austin airport. We all had different flight times, with one person's being within the hour.

A couple of folks had us stop at Starbucks and then another at McDonalds for coffee, and we ended up sitting at Starbucks for nearly half an hour due to how busy they were.

I kept thinking how livid I'd be if I was the person with the first flight. They barely made it as the gate was closing. Coffee isn't worth missing a flight.
