Lane Kiffin Challenges LSU Fans Ahead Of Afternoon Kickoff vs. Alabama

USA TODAY Network via Reuters Connect
LSU coach Lane Kiffin is challenging Tiger fans to bring the same energy to Death Valley for next Saturday's matchup against Alabama, despite the game being scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff on ABC.
The November 7 matchup will mark the first time Alabama has visited Tiger Stadium for a daytime game since 2010, something Kiffin discussed during his appearance on the Brandon Walker College Football Show on Wednesday.
"Oh, I do. Just the night, having played on the other side. The night is so electric and kind of intimidating here," Kiffin said when asked if he prefers night games at Tiger Stadium.
"Yeah, and it's interesting that all of a sudden this year, for the first time since 2010, Alabama's coming to LSU and not playing at night.
"So, you know, there's a lot of people around here upset about it and complaining and stuff. And I said, well, you know, I don't think we're gonna get a lot of favors with that. We don't have a lot of people around the SEC really rooting for LSU this year after what's transpired. So it is what it is."
Kiffin then challenged LSU fans to prove Tiger Stadium can be just as intimidating in the afternoon.
"I challenge our fans this: Obviously they put the game earlier because they think that's an advantage to Alabama and not LSU, that we can't be as loud and can't have the intense environment. So how about proving them wrong and having the same intense environment four hours earlier?"
Kiffin also said during Wednesday's SEC Coaches Teleconference that he was "shocked" to learn the game wouldn't be played at night.
