kept thinking how livid I'd be if I was the person with the first flight. They barely made it as the gate was closing. Coffee isn't worth missing a flight.

No kidding. Buy your coffee at the airport or before you leave the hotel

Yes that’s the rational way of thinking

But these type of folks are the ones who have a “but first.. coffee” plaque in their kitchen that they are incapable
Of functionality if they don’t get a little hint of caffeine water

we ended up sitting at Starbucks for nearly half an hour
Starbucks is never worth that even if there is no flight to catch

This sounds exactly like something that would happen to me. So people are just born with an inability to understand how time works.

Not at all, but I have no doubt she’ll blame him more than her choice!

Sounds like she was aiming to get left behind to have more time with Jody.

You stop for NOTHING in the airport except to piss unless you have an hour to spare. It's always a shitshow when you're in a hurry

Women's infatuation with Starbucks is beyond ridiculous - its shitty coffee. Super shitty. I'd take truck stop coffee over that stuff.

I can’t deal with habitually late people

It’s beyond incompetent, it’s flat out disrespectful

I’d get divorced over some shite like this

It's the next natural step from writing an article about a twitter thread.

I have personally witnessed something almost exactly like this and it was my employee's wife. Heading to a conference in Aruba and I invited them to attend. We had a tight connection in Miami and I was very clear to them to go straight to the gate and being International, be prepared to reshow your passport. She didn't travel much and was already pissing me and my wife off because she didn't like that there were planned events & dinners at the conference, which is normal.

She decides to go shopping in the airport and talking on the phone. Wife & I get to Gate and see we have time to get a drink at the bar next to the Gate. Employee shows up 10 minutes later without his wife. I just look at him and he shrugs (I can tell he is mad as hell). My wife is looking at Facebook or some shite and sees where this dumbass is posting pics in the airport but she is in the wrong part of the airport. She got turned around somehow. I tell my employee and he starts trying to call her and she refuses to answer. We know she read the text messages.

Airline starts calling Groups to board. I told him he had a decision to make. His answer was "No Sir I don't." He waited to the last possible moment but he got on after having the Gate Agent page her for 10 minutes. When she finally called him, she was crying and didn't know what to do. He told her to go see the AA people and get a ticket home because she could not come to Aruba as he had her passport. I found out after the fact that she had pitched a fit about being "responsible" with keeping up with her passport and put it in his backpack. He had forgotten and tells me he would not have gotten on the flight if he had remembered - and had planned to put her on next flight. Screwed that up!

It was the funniest and most awkward situation at the same time. My guy calls his mother-in-law and tells him what had happened. The MIL text both of them and rips into her daughter for her actions. Tells the SIL to have a good time even though its a business trip and that she will pick her up at DFW.

They stayed married (shockingly), he stills works for me, she has apologized to me & wife a hundred times, and she has not been invited again to a Conference out of the country since.
