Hell I'm sitting here in my office at home in a tshirt and shorts, and haven't even bothered to take a shower yet. Waiting until I'm done messing around in the garden

Going to the office was never really a burden to me because my commute is pretty short. I have a few coworkers that commute an hour one way so they save a ton of time and gas working from home more.

I've gotten used to it at this point and it would be an adjustment to go back 5 days per week. I think the hybrid setup for me is best though. I start getting pretty stir crazy after about 3 days straight at home.

Our requirement is twice every 2 week pay period. My team usually goes in on Thursdays, but we're allowed to choose our days as long as we meet the 2/10 standard.

Those that work remote:

How much weight (if any) have you gained?

Got a couple friends who have added 10-15lbs since WFH

I'm in the field 3 days a week and in the office the other two. I get the same amount done at home vs at the office but the higher ups "want everyone back". Whatever. Daddy needs a paycheck.

I never stopped. My site has gone back almost entirely to butts in seats because we failed spectacularly at remote working.

I’ve shared this before but there are a tone of retirement age people still working. Had Covid not happened most of them would’ve retired two years ago. However once remote started there were a ton of people that just hung around and milked making full salary to sit at the house. As soon as the site went back to arse in seat, ton of retirements went through.

For me, I've used time saved commuting to, among other things, hit the gym more. I'm probably in the best shape of my life in many ways.

I gained about 10 lbs in the first 6 months of 2020 but I've lost it all at this point. It's easier to eat out less when you are home.

Two days WFM and 3 days at the office. Office vaccine mandates as well, which was a complete farce. Wife accused me of looking like a hobo during the height of 100% WFH

I went like 10 months without shaving. I keep a short beard so I knew it was pretty grey already but I looked like the damn Duck Dynasty guy when I let it go that long

it’s become much more relaxed since 2020. The expectation was at minimum 4 days in office and 1 day WFH before the scamdemic. Now it’s probably 2-3 days WFH and 2 days in office.

Not to mention with the amount of attrition we’ve faced management has decided it’s better to ease off WFH restrictions. “I might lose you to salary competition, but i won’t lose you to work/life balance”. Which for me personally has worked out great with kids.

Definitely happy about spending a few grand to upgrade my WFH/Office setup.

Yesterday was my first day back in the office since February of 2020.

We are now going into the office 1 day each month.

*raises hand

I worked from home for 6 months, then went back to the office when everyone else was still at home, then others slowly started trickling back in.

Old job was still allowing people to WFH. New job everyone is back in the office.

I played golf on Tuesday. With a partner, not a client. 10am tee time.

Sometimes you just have to act like you run the place.

I have worked from home now for 7 years. My boss wanted me to work from home so I could focus on what he pays me for instead of being "Mr. Everything" at the office (helping people with IT issues, etc).

I went home kicking and screaming thinking I would hate it, but other than not being around a few people each day to talk to, I have enjoyed it.

Our company is condensing around 30 floors to 9 to save on rent. No reason for us to be in the office if we are just as productive or more productive when working from home.

Yeah, "more productive at home" didn't pan out like they thought. Turns out a lot of our younger work force aren't disciplined enough to stay off the playstation and get work done, or no go lay out instead of get on a conference call, or keep their kids from screaming and dogs from barking when important things were being discussed.

We had a commercial land parcel sell recently, I received an invoice from a 3rd party billing company and had to call to inquire about a fee calculation. I swear I heard a dog barking and a damn rooster crowing in the background. I hung up and they can call me when they don't receive payment.
