What NEEDS to happen to accommodate Space-X is to extend the four lanes of LA Highway 14 west of Abbeville to at least Gueydan (and possibly to Lake Charles). Building the Lafayette Expressway is merely completing a pipedream. It doesn't truly accomplish anything for Space-X.

Highway 167 is a divided four lane road. From Abbeville, Highway 167 will move the workers northward to Maurice & Lafayette if needed. The industrial corridor is not along I-10. Furthermore, I-10 thru Louisiana is a nightmare. Elon has already said that the Port of Iberia is anticipated to provide fabrication services for his facility. Extending Highway 14 further westward beyond Gueydan would also permit direct access to Lake Charles. Both ports provide deepwater access. The extension of Highway 14 would link Space-X directly to Highway 90 (designated future I-49) and HOPEFULLY provide the BOOST needed to complete I-49 southeastward thru Houma and to New Orleans. :nana:

BUT, the family court system in Louisiana and most of the country SUCKS (especially if little kids are involved). King B. H. Obama left his stain on most government institutions. The judicial system and in particular the attitude of family court hearing officers are insane. The family court system very much has a DEI tone. Social justice, equity, fairness, blah, blah, blah. I can say from my daughter's recent divorce that most of the hearing officers are pathetic DEI loons. Sadly, this poor woman has likely been jacked over repeatedly by a broken system. Prayers for all involved.

Be thankful if that is the brunt of the weather. Earlier this week it was supposed to be very rainy Saturday & Sunday (with amounts upwards of 4"). A local meteorologist just posted on FaceBook that over the past day weather models trends have backed off of the rain totals for inland areas of the state. The extreme southeastern areas of the state and areas of the gulf over towards Mississippi and Alabama are still expected to see heavy rain. Hopefully the models continue to lessen the rain and this Saturday turns out fine! Geaux Tigers!!!!
