It's insane that the head of the government would complain about a private company censoring his free speech.

It's basically the opposite of how the 1st Amendment works. The 1st protects private people and entities from the government, not the government from private people and entities.

Citing facts isn't a political stance.

It is when you pick and choose who and how to fact check.

For gods sake, snopes was fact checking memes and satire sites.

Not a comment on Snopes, but you can't deny that there's a bunch of people that can't tell the difference when it comes to satire and use memes as a source of seemingly-edgy ideas

Because people were sharing them as fact. Snopes has also taken on urban legends.

So twitter will start “fact checking” conservative tweets and saying they don’t pass the fact checking

Mad Magazine was subversive. CNN is orthodoxy. Mad Magazine wins in a first round knock-out. Mad Respek to Mad Magazine.

Twitter is not free speech

True, it is a publisher. And with that comes a whole slew of laws and regulations across the globe.

So they should allow influential people to just say false and outlandish shite so that it’s not an echo chamber?

They already do. Take someone like Lebron James.

Here's a tweet from the head of Twitter's "fact checkers"

Noticeably absent is a "fact check" on his own tweet, clarifying that "there is no evidence that Actual Nazis are in the White House"

Regardless of your feelings about Trump you have to see the rabbit hole this is creating right?

You are saying you trust the "fact checker" on Twitter to be the arbiter of truth throughout the land.

When did universal facts go away? When did we decide 2+2 sometimes equals 5, depending on your viewpoint?

Voter fraud is the subject of Trump's tweet. Large government and university studies have been done on voter fraud and it's been found that it's a complete non-issue. Just because someone wants to ignore scientific studies doesn't make their unfounded opinions equivalent in importance to the studies.

There is a bipartisan consensus that voting by mail, whatever its impact, is more easily abused than other forms. In a 2005 report signed by President Jimmy Carter and James A. Baker III, who served as secretary of state under the first President George Bush, the Commission on Federal Election Reform concluded, “Absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud.”

See, this is what is funny about the whole thing. There is evidence mail-in ballots are subject to problems. So Twitter's choice to fact check that particular post makes their bias more obvious.

See this is EXACTLY THE PROBLEM but these sheep can't see it.

They read on Twitter that mail in voting fraud isn't a problem. When in fact it is. But because someone on Twitter told them there is no problem they believe it.

It's amazing the blinders some people have. I used to think it was naivety now I just think it's stupid.

We're living in the stupidest timeline I can imagine.

This could only be better if twitter fact-checked his tweet about them violating his free speech.
