re: Where does Gavin Dugas’ season this year rank all time in LSU history? - ashy larry on 6/10/21 at 10:02 pm
The "s" is silent or nah?
He’s from Houma. My money is on a silent ‘s’. Also willing to bet his grandma calls everyone cher and may even spell it like ‘sha’ when writing out Christmas cards. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: english ivy or creeping fig or something else? - ashy larry on 6/10/21 at 9:55 pm
Creeping fig is invasive
Uncontrollable? Or just hard to remove? I don’t mind trimming. It wouldn’t be around any other plants on my property. Although I guess it could spread to the neighbor’s side of the fence. I’m not terribly concerned about the fence longevity. It’s cedar ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

re: Does anyone like slightly tall St. Augustine? - ashy larry on 6/10/21 at 9:42 pm
I cut mine at 3”. If I was able to cut every 4-5 days, I’d cut it higher. I love tall St Aug. however my mower misses some blades at 3”. I find the lower I cut, the more even the cut looks ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
Drove by 30+ just me and the wife (along with Zillow inspection). Actual walk through and get the disclosures on with the realtor? 7.
I wish everyone would do this. It's amazing how much of people's time is wasted b/c of laziness. When I sold my last house, I could hear someone on ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Light fixture question w/ incredible drawings! - ashy larry on 6/10/21 at 4:15 pm
[link=(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WWNS4Z3)]LINK[/link] If the goof ring doesn't work, you can use a medallion like this to make it look fancy. I know people that use these in older homes to avoid fixing the holes around fixtures....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
english ivy or creeping fig or something else? - ashy larry on 6/10/21 at 2:35 pm
I have a small yard and need some privacy. I currently have a 6' cedar fence and don't want the look of an 8' (or taller) wood wall. Instead I want to install a couple feet of lattice or some kind of trellis on top of the fence to allow the ivy to cover from the ground to the top of the lattice/trel...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (4)
re: Costs of house pad prep? - ashy larry on 5/26/21 at 3:59 pm
I'm guessing they aren't working the dirt for that price. a few years ago I paid for 240 yards for my pad. It's in Baton Rouge so I had to pay more for the dirt than if it would have been near a dirt pit. $2 yard dirt $7 yard for delivery $2 yard for leveling it and compacting it. Total was $...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: Best filter system for an inground pool? - ashy larry on 5/15/21 at 7:54 pm
I have chlorine. I didn’t get salt bc a salt water pool will corrode everything near the pool. My pool is right off the back porch and I have a lot of metal things in my outdoor kitchen. My chlorine takes little effort to keep balanced. I follow the guidelines from troublefreepool.com. It’s cost...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
re: Are there basements in Baton Rouge? - ashy larry on 5/14/21 at 8:54 pm
I’ve actually been in one and was surprised as hell. Bought something and went to go pick it up. It was on Claycut kind of across the school.
Pretty’s sure I’ve been in the same house. It’s in capital heights next to Claycut. It’s the only one I can think in BR that I’ve been insid...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Help me understand what people see in the following home appliances/amenities: - ashy larry on 4/21/21 at 2:58 pm
So called water closets. Why does the toilet need its own tiny room? Who wants to be confined after an episode of explosive diarrhea. re: Home builder issues - ashy larry on 4/10/21 at 8:51 am
My list is lengthy and for the sake of brevity I'll spare it.
What are some examples? I think people here will give you some honest feedback. Are we talking crooked walls or too much drywall cut out next to an electrical box? One of those is easily fixed by the painter. As someo...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Home builder issues - ashy larry on 4/10/21 at 7:09 am
So many things need attention. Shoddy craftsmanship, etc.
Can you elaborate on what the issues are? I work in this field and a lot of times homeowners have unrealistic expectations. I’m not saying this is the case, but I know people that think a home should look flawless like a c...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Best pool robot these days. - ashy larry on 3/16/21 at 5:03 pm
Anyone use the caddy? Worth the price of admission? I leave my Polaris in the pool most of the time, but with a Dolphin, I’d most likely wheel it in between use.
I didn't buy the caddy. I leave my robot in the pool unless we are swimming. My neighbor has nearby trees that dumps s...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
