Report: The SEC Has Finalized Punishments For Programs That Play Ex-Professional Athletes

On Tuesday evening, the SEC officially ruled to ban professional athletes from returning to the Collegiate level.

According to Matt Norlander of CBS Sports, the SEC has finalized the following punishments for any program that tries to add a player to their roster who previously signed a pro contract (and/or declared and didn’t formally withdraw) with the NFL, NBA, G League, or WNBA:

-Half-season suspension for head coaches

-SEC voting privileges revoked on business matters for the school in violation of the rule

-A hefty fine: 50% of that sport's annual operating budget

-The league retains the right to levy other penalties by Greg Sankey and/or SEC presidents/chancellors if necessary
