I do wonder how this plays out with the whole publisher vs. platform dichotomy that seems to be developing that these social media sites use as an unfettered defense against criticism of their moderation tactics. If you, as a platform, purport to give out the facts, it would seem like you start leaning towards publisher of information rather than a platform in which information is disseminated.

You are saying you trust the "fact checker" on Twitter to be the arbiter of truth throughout the land.

I mean c'mon use your brain for 1 second.

So now just because some person that works for twitter says something is true or false that's what is to be believed? Holy shite.

Twitter, as it stands, is not free speech. They are a private company. They can restrict what they want. It does raise an interesting question, though. Is there ever a point where a company like Twitter gets too big for the public’s good? Twitter is a major influencer across the globe. At what point do you tell them they can’t continue to remain biased towards one side of the political spectrum when so many people use it?

twitter is a cesspool of misinformation and is largely the platform responsible for shitty attitudes towards each other.

If they were to fact check on an even handed basis, they would lose most of their patrons.
