I have actually seen quite a few of them. There is a relitevily dense population south of Tallulah along Hwy 65. There is a pecan orchard stretched along that highway that the frequent. I would say there is close to being a huntable population in that area. I have also seen a number of bald eagles in that area.

Seen quite a few in Pointe Coupee. They like to knock over deer feeders.

Those bears probably won't frick with you. Now, if you see you a Grizzly, I recommend letting off a few rounds from a bona fide, Smith & Wesson 500.

Yes, pretty cool to see. I'm glad they're making a comeback. Hopefully i get the chance to hunt them one day.

Saw a black bear swimming in lake St. John one time. Saw a black panther on my property outside of Natchez probably 20+ years ago as well.

Saw a mama and her cub in a field about 50 yards away from Hwy 90 in Patterson. Cars were slowing down to look.

I don’t know that I’d ever seen one in my 20+ years growing up in Louisiana. I’ve seen lots of them since in north Georgia.

St. Mary has an issue with bears especially in the Berwick area. The forest between Berwick and Bayou Vista even has signs for bear crossings on US 90.
