re: Question about dog starting to growl
Posted by jmkidder on 3/18/24 at 7:43 pm
As soon as he does it grab him (or her) and hold him down on his back while looking into his eyes and growling at him, showing your teeth. Hold him there until he quits struggling. Someone has to be the boss, if it’s not you it’s him. ...

re: Do most AC companies charge service call fees if under labor warranty?
Posted by jmkidder on 9/21/23 at 9:20 am
If still under labor warranty there should be no charge for that. Some warranty’s are weird when it comes to freon. That may be what they are charging you for. Also only the original installer of the equipment will warranty the labor. Is it still the original company?...
re: What is proper procedure for removing wall light and capping off wires
Posted by jmkidder on 8/31/23 at 8:13 pm
It may not be up to code but if you just cap it and sick it in the wall I don’t see what would go wrong. It would be a dead end not drawing any amps so would never burn up....

re: Best dehumidifier for small bathroom?
Posted by jmkidder on 7/16/23 at 1:31 pm
The exhaust fan is leaking, seal all the holes on it and seal where it penetrates the sheet rock. Then disconnect the the exhaust fan from the duct that takes it out the house and install a spring loaded back draft damper instead of the crappy one that came with it. Assuming your attic is traditiona...

It’s Alabama, they have had down years but they have always been good and will always be good. Just like LSU. The rivalry is fun and I hope it continues. ...

re: Attic fan advice please
Posted by jmkidder on 4/7/23 at 8:45 pm
It’s hard to explain but trust me you don’t want your attic cool in the summer time. It can cause your duct work to sweat. Instead of worrying about cooling your attic spend your money on insulating your ceiling....

re: spray foam insulation for attic
Posted by jmkidder on 3/8/23 at 3:39 pm
You still return and supply from the living space. And you won’t need a bigger unit because you won’t have any heat gain from the ducts in the attic picking heat. Also you won’t be really conditioning your attic but it will feel like it, if done right....
