re: Do you guys honestly like your job?

I like my job.
But I also will be prepared to change careers/jobs/position or area of focus at work, if I ever stop liking it.
Life is way too short. It’s not worth spending a decade or more in a job I don’t like. It’s harder for us men as we’re raised to suck it up and deal with it.
I say this as a family man in my 40’s after figuring out a lot about life.

I enjoyed my job until about a year ago when I got a new manager. My job is much less enjoyable now. My new manager is highly capable and intelligent. He's probably the most technically proficient person I've ever worked with. But a good manager he is not. He doesn't have good people skills and he's just an a-hole for no reason sometimes. Before he became my manager I really thought I wanted to retire here. Now, I'm actively searching for another job. It sucks that I will probably lose my extra PTO when I switch companies but at this point I think it will be worth it.

I absolutely love my job. I work from home and never dread walking into my office.

I have plenty of bad days and frustrations like everyone, but I have a fair employer and get to do fun things all day.

I enjoy my job but loathe my employees. I have owned restaurants, made my money, but it was a grind. Being a Hooters manager isn't going to garner me respect but six figures a year, pretty much the time I off I want, I make my own schedule, and work about 40 hours a week. That checks off a lot of boxes. I love the industry and controlling the chaos, but I have no control over how these people were raised. My sector of the industry is full of people who's lives are a mess.

I like my job most days, I spent 20 years as an upper level science teacher, was damn good at it and loved it most of the time. I saw enough bad admin screw things up and finally decided that I could bitch or I could try to do better. I love what I do but I'm looking forward to being able to retire in less than a decade. If they didn't pay me I wouldn't show up but for a job its pretty nice.

Yep

There are bad days, but 95% of the time it’s awesome and I have a lot of flexibility and WFH

I like the freedom of my job and the amount of time off I have.

My career has been bearable, but not something I’d choose to do if I wasn’t getting paid a lot. Retiring at the end of October at 49. Good riddance.

Working with people you can cut up with and enjoy helps make serving the time easier. Had some great friends/co workers early in my career. That all fades when you get into upper management and executive roles tho and it’s pretty lonely and miserable.
