Unfortunately yes. Got too touristy probably due to private equity getting into the wineries. I have relatives that live there and one of them grew up there and they said they hate what is has become. Not the quaint, quiet place it used to be.

Whining about wine. I guess you could say it's a whine-wine situation

If you didn't scream "I'm not drinking any fricking merlot" at least once, you have failed as a man.

You can’t figure out how to have a good time during a Fredricksburg wine tour?

I drove west from Austin to see the famous Hill Country. I'd driven for quite a spell and hadn't seen any hills. Got out my map and I had reached the first "l" in Hill Country.
Dang it, not a hill that could hold a candle to the hills of Virginia and Tennessee. And the hills of my youth came with trees that were green much of the year, not sparsely leafed out grey green over dirt with some weeds.

You’re not looking very hard if you can’t find some whiskey and cold beer in Fredericksburg

Pretty sure there’s a plan for a huge resort in Fredericksburg. That’s gross to me, but par for the course for this state. God forbid we keep the character to some of these places. With any luck, we can turn them into Frisco-type places, overrun with foreigners and soon to be booming with over 250,000 people.
