Any swinging going on?

Fredericksburg blows. If QVC was a hill country town it would be Fredericksburg.

They have a bar on Main Street in Fredericksburg that saved me.
We might have gone to that bar - it did not have a large selection of beer, but had some excellent choices.

Drive to Luchenbach, throw down a couple of cold Lone Stars and listen to some country music.

Very happy (nearly extremely) to learn something I don’t know.
I know many wine snobs. Very unhappy when I am around snobbery. That I already know.
You will find me learning something new on Enchanted Rock.

This!
Pretty drive. Then head to Hamby’s in Boerne. DD of course.
That’s a nice day.

Done that - enjoyed it. Usually take out-of-state visitors there.

Fredericksburg is for old people

You went to wineries and expected to be served scotch?
I don't expect squat. I'm just saying I did not enjoy the wine tour.

why? I don’t get the appeal of this place
as someone who is moving from Birmingham, AL to Kerrville tomorrow, I can assure you - it is a great area

Fredericksburg is a great place - I'd hate to have to waste any time with wine-tasting.

This has probably been covered already, but Costco carries some good wine.

Looks like we're on the same page.

I've told this story on here before, but I took my parents on a trip to Colorado, and we stayed in Grand Junction for a few nights. One of the days we went to Palisade, the "Napa Valley of Colorado," but not before we hit up a dispensary. My parents had never been to one, and they were curious.
We ended getting some gummies, and miscalculated the dosages, and ended up eating way more than we thought. By the time we got to the first winery, we were all zooted.
My dad is a blue-collar, rural Alabama man. He's about as far removed from wine culture as one can get. When he drinks, its natty light 99% of the time.
Not sure if it was the effects of the edibles, or if he was just being silly for us, trying to make his laugh, but he was acting like he was really into the wine tasting. Holding the glass properly, sniffing it, doing the whole oenophile thing.
Well, this sent my mom and I into a full blown geek out. We couldn't stop laughing, and we were crying, trying our best to keep it together. The winery host probably thought we were crazy.

Garrison Brothers is around there. Big arse does beer. Alstadt is there too. Wineries are for wine, did you expect a full bar?
The scenery passing through those wineries on a busy day makes it worth the trip. It makes me wish I were single and still able to try for a nice 30yo woman who is little tipsy. They are there in droves

In part because they didn't have beer, scotch, or dr. pepper to serve you.
That's like going on the bourbon trail in Kentucky and saying you don't like bourbon and the tour sucked because they didn't have any wine or Mr. Pibb available.

Wine snobs are obnoxious but they don’t stink like cigar snobs.
