Come on, man!
Do they expect some teenager who now has a couple of million dollars that he didn't have six months ago to keep track of days of the year and when and where the money started coming from.
The old I Don't know and I don't remember will be played loudly and often.

I searched my childhood home and found it with38 photos. The subsequent owners have done some really nice things (I wish my parents had thought of) but I didn't recognize my bed room. That camera had changed wall locations enough that the windows to wall ratios had changed. Weirded me out when I figured by process of elimination which room it was.
re: How often do you actually sit down and read a book?
Posted by real turf fan on 2/25/26 at 5:51 pm to PhilipMarlowe
Every night.
Mostly history and I'll follow times.
Example:
I was reading The First Crusade. In it the author mentioned a book that he admired about the Reconquest of Spain. I got it on ILL. It had no fluff but a lot of detail about how long it took and less about the characters. Then I got Sister Queens : they were sisters: who became Queens unhappily. Juana was Queen of Spain aka Juana the Mad and the other was Henry VIII's first wife, .Katherine of Aragon.
The actions of Cardinal Woolsey against the latter has gotten me to get a book about him from ILL. I'm also looking to learn more about the Burgundian rulers and the eventual decline of the Holy Roman Empire (Juana's husband was also of that family and King of a number of countries.).
SorryL TLDR

Very big sigh. For all of us humans who realize how fleeting life can be, and who have known times that we wished to have back but painlessly.
All the different symptoms and speed of progression brought something to mind. It's called synergy. You see that word a lot, but in this context? Take a look at symptoms of a plant with one virus, and a second plant had another disease- their expression of symptoms is different A third plant had both but has symptoms that resemble neither of the two separate. But all three plants had very different visible symptoms.
When a really bad disease is diagnosed, does the medical profession look beyond that to see what other problems might be systemic?

My Grandfather grew to love ice hockey when he was a diplomat in Canada. He ended up settling for watching the Redskins on black and white TV and listening to pro baseball on the radio at night.
When I watch NHL on my large color TV, I remember him and wish he were still around to enjoy the images.
(Pro basketball may be not so subtly sending people to NHL games,)

re: Will they ever find Nancy Guthrie?
Posted by real turf fan on 2/24/26 at 10:23 am to RobertFootball
Here's a roundabout way the perps could be found;
Mrs. Guthrie was bleeding when she left her home. I think the police have veritied that it was her blood on the front porch. OK. So her body was not carried by a person or a horse or mule away from that house. She, bleeding was placed in a car, truck or van.
At some point in the future that van car or truck will be sold and maybe the buyer will see something that looks brown. And contacts the FBI to test for blood origin.
OR, they have already burned the vehicle. How many vehicles are burned in southern Arizona this month and most of them will have vehicle ID numbers somewhere in them. If you're burning a vehicle you don't stay there to see that the engine block number is obscured.

A buck or a doe or a fawn? The lattermost might kick in additional charges, not that he couldn't get that much stranger.

Does anyone else remember the disappearance of a really nice, cute young girl, Holly Bobo in west Tennessee. Someone saw her taken from her property in April 2011. Some of her remains were found September 2014. She was found because one of the perps told where they had taken her and what they had done.
Her part of Tennessee has lots of woods and waterways and rainfall to degrade bodies.
In the desert southwest, I don't know how long bodies will last. Maybe someone out there has a version of UTennessee's Body Farms.

Are they still counting the fatalities at the collapsed bon fire against A&M?
Colorado and Boulder? So mellow I'm not sure if they'd notice.
Maryland: decades ago I spent the summer there taking one year of a foreign language. It was civilized. Two years ago we were nearby and the place has changed so much since the city encroached on it and then the city things started being less well kept. I couldn't find the buildings our classes were in and the nice open spaces had buildings, lots of buildings.

Some shite is just not important to women.
This beggars the question.
As a woman who has driven a lot across this country and in Canada, I can tell you I can and do read maps and it's important.
The worst thing I can do driving is get lost and end up in a part of a city that is not safe. Likewise, I'm frugal and I don't want to waste time or money driving half an hour in a direction that isn't where I want to go.
I do have women friends who are good with directions. I also have one who is a disaster. If she says turn right up ahead, I will do the opposite. I don't understand how she can be consistently wrong but she is with directions. Otherwise she's very intelligent.

When you compare her height with her Maternal grandmother, you see where American nutrition and care played a major roll.
That she ignores her Paternal Grandmother probably gets her a PR visit with Meghan Markel who also ignores Paternal family.

Didn't NOLA have a rink in the shopping center east of town? The one that is only a memory now.
Here's another hidden expense:
Here's another hidden expense:

A new Zamboni costs anywhere from around $10,000 for smaller, basic models to over $200,000 for large, professional machines, with many full-sized models landing in the $150,000 to $200,000 range, depending heavily on size, features, and whether it's electric or gas-powered. For example, some new models were priced around $127,000 to $198,000 in recent years.

Surely she has lived under a different name or she would have been found more recently.
How she chose the name and what she did with it probably has some legal consequences.

Not quire.
In NOLA tires and rims are stolen off of cars because the thief wants them for his car.
In South Africa (several notches above Haiti) tires are stolen so that the President's ex wife can oversee putting them around enemies as setting the tires and enemies on fire.

If this is a one time destination for you, fine.
But if you vacation there year after year, you might want to contact them, express your sorrow at what's happening and tell them to apply that money to helping them and their workers and you look forward to visiting them in the future.
It's hard to apply the Golden Rule in situations like this, but imagine being there because it's your home.
