My buddy works in finance and was out there once or twice for work and said it's as desolate, dusty, quiet, slightly odd as you'd think a west texas town would be.

Just checked out a few things.

1) The downtown is larger than I would have thought

2) It is in the middle of NOWHERE. Holy crap.

It's awful. I honestly can't think of a worse place to live.

And this is a person that lives in fricking Shreveport.

If you like to have roughnecks in jacked up trucks challenge you to a drag race at every red light, then it's your heaven.

Went last week and a lot of hotels and restaurants going up between Midland and Odessa. A good hotel is expensive but so is all of midland. I would not want to move there. And always wear jeans

We have a project going on there....I don't have to go, but I can tell you that from what I hear, it sucks balls. Nothing much of anything out there.

I've seen a couple split because the woman refused to move there when the man took a job.

Unless pay is outrageous, don't do it man. It's boring af.

I stayed there for a week for work, it was arguably the most boring week of my life.

For the next 6 months starting soon? I'd take North Dakota.

Their docs tried to save Boobie’s career. Ol’ Boobie didn’t listen to them and ruined his own career.

As other have said, isn't really shite to do there.

I've never seen so many help wanted signs in my life though
