take these words to heart.

People are cool and food is great. You have to leave town to enjoy weekends.

Don't listen to these people. Most of them live in Louisiana or Houston. And have never left. Do you really want to trust their judgement on life decisions?

If the money makes sense then go.

Most likely you will make more in 6 months than most of them make in a year or two.

There are plenty of places to eat, drink, get laid, and shop in Midland/Odessa.

If you work in oil and gas the Permian is where the action is right now and for the next 5 years.

Delaware Basin (NM and Pecos TX) is the hottest oil play in the US and possibly the world right now.

Every company that isn't a broke dick is moving money, equipment, and people there right now.

Even have a half dozen LA outfits opened up shops in Carlsbad NM in the past year.

You know it. Nobody hates on and bashes Louisiana more than somebody born and raised in Louisiana! The self-hate is amazing, especially compared to the pride that Texans have for their own state. It's almost as if the normal people all live in Texas and the psychologically damaged losers separate themselves by living in Louisiana.

Louisiana has no self-pride at all and seems like all Louisianans are ashamed of themselves and their state.

They should all convert to being Baptist, change their French surname to something of Anglo-Irish-Scot heritage, move to Texas and have a shot at getting a girlfriend that's not an oily whale.
