I beg to differ. Been up here 9 months and while there are some redeeming qualities up here, just not as much to do and winters are fricken brutal. It hit 0deg with a -25tp -30 wind chill only 2 weeks ago. We are finally thawing out now thank god.

Midland has money but it is very desolate area. There is stuff to do but mostly stuff that would appeal to older people.

I’d request the specific area. The ‘Midland’ area consists of a broad area to most companies. Anywhere west of Kermit would be a miserable commute to/from Midland. If it is closer to Carlsbad, 285 is horrible and dangerous.

285, 302 have to be the worst in the area. A few weeks ago DPS stationed 30 troopers on 285. Traffic in Pecos is terrible. I20 and 17 is a cluster.

Worked in Midland on a rotation for 3 years and moved up here permanently a month ago. Rent is stupid expensive, the dating scene here is God awful, and every decent restaurant is always packed regardless of what time of the day it is. Flights out of here are a bit expensive and major cities are roughly 4-5 hours away. Besides that, there’s lots of money to be made up here and if coming here will be good for your career progression, go for it.

The city of Pecos offered city owned land for free if a chain grocery store would open in the city. They had no takers.

Start off the night at Red Iguana with shitty Chinese food and millers. Pop-a-top has you covered on Tecate light and coke hookups. Don't forget to go to the Alpine Lounge for the salad bar.

I didn't think I could ever miss Laredo Tx until I spent a few weeks in Pecos, that is without doubt the biggest shite hole in Texas.
