At least in Florida if the landlord won’t fix it no rent to be paid until he does. Tell her to move. The LL is a POS.

Most states & cities in Texas and I assume the south have laws requiring the landlord to provide a working AC.

$750 for a 2 bedroom house. Landlord knows that he's giving the tenant a sweetheart deal on rent and isn't making anything from it.. So that's why he said he's going to have to raise the rent if he's got to put out $7500 for a new AC unit.

It would take 10 months rent to recoup that money. It’s a reasonable request as 750 is cheap.

Move. And stop coddling our youths. I lived without AC for two years in college.

I lived a summer without it three years ago, and I'm an old MFer.

You ain't that tough.

She signed a lease with AC, he has to provide AC.

He’s in luck!

He’s gonna get fricked out of any more rent by your daughter.

It’s probably about as close as he’ll ever get again to actual sex in his life.

1 bedroom house? Or in two mini splits and get rid of central air.

No lease.
750 a month for 2 bedroom
Family friend offered it...why? Does your daughter have shitty credit and cant qualify?

The landlord has already helped you out , now this happens and youre looking for legal action?

Youre fricking pathetic.

We bought her 3 window units for right now since she's moving out of state in January.

Perfect solution. She needs to move out asap since there’s no lease. In the meantime she’s not having to deal with the heat. The landlord gets stuck paying for a new ac unit. The last one I purchased for a rental was $12k.
