I think Mulkey is a great coach, but going after a Russian when you know how personal that war it to Koval was strange to me. They talked during the season about them having to rename the “Russian Drill” in practice because it upset Kate so much. If the Russian comes in and is better than Koval, great. If not, then I’m not sure why not just sign a big from anywhere else.

Curious as to where you got your inside info that she "hates" the Russian???? Coach Mulkey confirmed last year that Koval told her that she's afraid for her father every day. Her father is in an active war zone. Is it unrealistic to believe that her father / parents were against their daughter's new teammate from Russia? How many friends or relatives have been killed by Russian missiles? Ukraine has been fighting, in one capacity or another, Russia going back to pre war WWII. Stalin starved millions of Ukrainians to death prior to the war. You have no idea how much hate exists between these 2 countries. I have no doubt that this decade + hate for Russia had a role in her departure And I have no doubt that her parents were involved as well. "Bigotry"?? Jesus !!!!

Sounds like the MLB players who didn't want to play with Jackie Robinson.

Good riddance.

It's simple.

Mulkey is a commie. Never thought I'd see the day when a girl from South Louisiana would take the Russkies

No "ifs" about it. Anyone who looks at Anna Mineava's highlights against other professionals in Russia can see that she's special. Special to the point, in my opinion, of being an All-SEC type player, at least an All-Freshman team player, this year. She will give LSU some things they haven't had in the post. If she stays healthy she has "future first round draft pick" written all over her.

Kim and the staff knew full well there was always a chance that Kate might balk at the idea, but after watching Anna play they deemed it was worth the risk. I agree whole heartedly with them going for Anna. She's gonna be a superstar. I see all these posts saying, "she's just 17" when in reality with her pro experience and success she's actually more like 24 right now.

She's already seasoned and polished in many ways. It's amazing she's this good at age 17. Also plays a smart and mature game. When Caroline Bradley joins her, it will be scary for everyone else.

But they need to get another body in the post quickly to spell Anna because Morro seem to me is more of a 4. Don't want to have to move Z back to 4. They need her too much at the 3 now.

Because of the Russian. Their countries are at war

And yet the Russian was willing to play with her. Hmmmmm
