Basically conservatives are either grifters or religious zealots.

And the character most exalted in this movie was a money grubbing, legacy hating, slut.

I know people tend to dig for "wokeism" in movies but thats not what this is. This is simply the foundational intention of almost every aspect of the movie. You simply cannot argue with these points. They were overt and RJ himself would admit to them in private im sure. It was a bad essay converted into a decent movie.

The entire theme of the movie is that all the sins of modern society most commonly associated with progressivism are really just victims of antiquated bigoted perversions of Christianity. But churches that disregard those teachings are good. This was displayed ham handedly in the back and forth between Wicks and Jud. Wicks general points in that argument were essentially valid but delivered as a villain, which gives away the writers intent.

I agree that he wrapped it all in pseudo respect for religion to make it effective but it was pretty on the nose.
