Thats a faulty assumption that fails to consider life is impossible.

The whole "even if life is one in a trilliion, there are 2 trillion other galaxies" argument pre-supposes that there is some countable "chance" of life, simply because we exist.

If you fail to allow for the possibility of impossible things to exist (miracles) you will have a bad equation, given that they do.
