No. 10 LSU hits the road Saturday night for an SEC matchup against Kentucky at Kroger Field in Lexington. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.

The Tigers (4-1, 1-1 SEC) are coming off back-to-back home wins over Texas A&M and McNeese, including last week's 63-14 blowout that saw LSU rack up 731 yards of total offense.

Kentucky (4-1, 2-1 SEC) enters the matchup with momentum of its own after rallying from a 17-point deficit to beat South Carolina 35-34 in overtime last weekend. The Wildcats, led by first-year head coach Will Stein, also picked up an impressive road win over Texas A&M earlier this season.

For LSU, Saturday presents an opportunity to earn its first road victory of the season and stay in the thick of the SEC race.

What To Watch For

1. Can LSU Bounce Back On The Road?

LSU returns to the road for the first time since its 32-24 loss to Ole Miss on September 19.

The Tigers have responded well since that defeat, dominating Texas A&M 35-6 before rolling past McNeese last weekend.

But Kentucky presents another challenge in a hostile SEC environment. The Wildcats have already proven they can compete with quality opponents, and Saturday's night game in Lexington should provide a tough atmosphere.

With difficult road trips still ahead, this is an important opportunity for LSU to show it can carry its recent momentum away from Tiger Stadium.

2. LSU's Dominant Pass Rush vs. Kentucky's Offense

LSU's defensive front has been one of the biggest strengths of Lane Kiffin's team this season.

Princewill Umanmielen leads the nation with eight sacks, while freshman defensive tackle Deuce Geralds has emerged as another major threat with five. The Tigers have recorded 22 sacks as a team through five games.

Kentucky quarterback Kenny Minchey has thrown for 1,148 yards and 11 touchdowns with just one interception this season.

Getting pressure on Minchey will be important, especially with LSU still adjusting to injuries at linebacker and safety.

If the Tigers can disrupt Kentucky's passing game and force the Wildcats into long third-down situations, LSU's defense should have an opportunity to take control.

3. A Healthy Sam Leavitt Against A Banged-Up Kentucky Defense

LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt said this week that he's back to 100 percent after dealing with a hamstring injury over the last two games.

Despite being limited as a runner, Leavitt continued to produce through the air, throwing for 312 yards and two touchdowns against Texas A&M before adding three touchdown passes in the first half against McNeese.

The Tigers enter Saturday ranked third nationally in total offense, averaging 547.8 yards per game.

Kentucky, meanwhile, is dealing with significant injuries on defense, particularly at linebacker, where Alex Afari Jr., Antwan Smith and Tavion Wallace have all been ruled out.

With Leavitt healthy and LSU's offensive line showing improvement in pass protection, the Tigers should have opportunities to attack a depleted Kentucky defense.

Saturday will be another important test for Kiffin's offense as LSU looks to improve to 5-1 and pick up its second SEC victory of the season.

Kickoff from Kroger Field is set for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
