That's why they're pushing this so hard and refusing to let it go despite the steps LSU has taken for compliance. They've long desired to establish independent self governance and they're using LSU as a courtroom pathway to that outcome. This league is operating in bad faith and maliciously targeting a member school with litigation.

What do the bylaws say? Can they do it with a 2/3 vote or not?

This is what I want the answer to.
It’s probably pretty simple. Lane was more brazen about it and embarrassed Sanky.
If for some reason LSU recruiting those two kids was the straw that broke the camels back for the sec, then why didn’t they cover or care about the other teams and players on TROs alongside the two kids from LSU? And that's not even including the fact that OM and USCe recruited one of the same players LSU did according to said player and neither has refuted it.

Exactly and it’s that reason Sankey needs to be fired. Also not sure why Rousse and Ausberry didn’t get out in front of this and call out these other schools doing the same thing.

Since the SEC is going to be hypocritical in its application of a hardline response, I would prefer that they just do us a favor and kick us out.

This is what’s so dangerous from a precedent setting standpoint. It proves that if the powers that be have an axe to grind, they will exercise those powers at will and do whatever they want. Even showing complete inconsistency in its application of its own rules and a member is powerless to stop it. Member universities in the conference should be extremely wary of what’s going on here but they can’t see beyond their hatred if all things lsu

Honestly, if they tried to go after an Ole Miss or a Missouri like this, it wouldn't have the same impact. LSU was the easy, loudest and most impactful target to go after to setup this new framework the SEC is going after. That said, Sankey can kick rocks.

To be clear, I am 100% ok with the SEC or any governing body in college sports getting control becuase its insane right now. I just wish LSU didn't have to be drug through the mud to make it happen.

This is a misguided undertaking. Can the SEC make a rule that it can fix the contestants for any given SECCG? What logically could prevent it from contriving a retrospective rule to change whatever it cared to and enforce it retroactively? That is exactly what they are doing here. The lemmings like Ross Dellinger and the brainless ESPN talking heads and fellow travelers are assisting in establishing what amounts to a central politbureau with plenary power to do as it sees fit. None is worth spit on a sidewalk from where I stand.

Exactly. All you would have to do in court is show the SEC and Stankey were not consistent in their treatment of TRO's . Talk about precedent. There it is. NCAA says Chambliss is ineligible. Homer MS court judge says he is. SEC is ok. There's your precedent. And dumbass Finebaum calls LA a banana republic because a judge here ruled in favor of the players but doesn't say a single word about the MS judge.Again, double standards.

If the SEC didnt want to look like massive hypocrites here, they should be going after EVERY school who has a player eligible under a TRO/local judge. But hey, cant do that because thats every single school probably...
It's been beyond ridiculous from the start of this to ONLY go after "contracted" guys by NFL teams, when they never even had the choice to start with. Meanwhile, local judge grants a 6th year nobody agrees with? No problem!
