Long days, short years.

It will be interesting to see the long-term effects on medical schools. Most of my classmates left with six figures of debt. I think the average medical school debt is somewhere above 200 K presently, but many are much higher than that, 300 to 400 K.

While I am overall a proponent of this change for the reasons/effects stated in the OP, I am a bit concerned about how this might long-term affect doctors going to rural areas where they are most needed. More than a doctor shortage we have a distribution problem. Kids from rural areas are more likely to go back to rural areas after residency, and these kids in general are going to be less affluent than those coming from the cities. While there does exist some incentives to practice in rural areas, including loan repayment credits, I do not think they are strong enough.

They should considering added a loan forgiveness program like they do for Public Sector workers. Pay on the loan for 10 years as long as you work in that sector, in this case it would be a doctor in a rural area, and then your loan is forgiven after that amount.

I don't have a Rolex or any high end luxury watch but from everything I see and read, unlike other a lot of luxury items, those watches are absolute units and workhorses, meant to be worn.

I think you either have a bad water pump or you have air in the system. If the thermostat is bad, it should fail in the open position and you would throw a code.
I think we need a 2008 type run to get us in.

You'll be shocked how much it's changed in 15 years.

Where are they going to build this new Peace Terminal?
2006 was pretty exciting.

Men and Women were Final 4 bound, Smoke let go, Football heading into a championship season.

First 6 months, you're kind of useless. As others have said, help out your wife as much as you can. Also, she is a hormonal mess so be prepared.

What we did did when my daughter was born was establish shifts. I took night shift, especially once the baby moved out of our room and into her crib.

Do the night feedings and try to bond as much as you can. She's your baby girl the rest of your life now.

Lastly, the days will be long, and the years will be short. So get the most out of it while you can.
I'd have about 800 miles to cover and would be in St. Louis once I got to the river. That's the nearest point from my current location.
