Back in the 90s that area was ok. Lots of older folks who kept to themselves. Wife had an uncle who lived there unfortunately now not as quiet.

She probably already has an idea they are not real. Ask her what she thinks about it and take it from there. If she’s adamant Santa is real you may have to back off for now.

I’ve been to NM many times. I’ve often thought La and NM had alot in common. Diverse landscapes north and south. Unique cuisine and unfortunately lowest income per resident, but a lot of cultural pride.
