It would never pass muster on a college level composition.

This point is irrelevant. Like Spanish, French, and Portuguese, English has both formal definitions and informal usages that evolve through everyday conversation. You would benefit from reading a wider range of literature beyond traditional college textbooks, as they offer insight into the contrast between academic writing and real-world communication. If you fail to recognize this distinction, it’s unsurprising that you resort to provoking others on a fan forum, seemingly searching for meaning in your insignificant life.

There is no difference in meaning between “A man was caught lying” and “A man was literally caught lying.”

As mentioned earlier, the word "literally" has long been used in English to emphasize a statement. Therefore, your argument about "protecting the English language" is misplaced, as there was no misuse of the word, despite your intentionally confrontational approach.

I mean it was just like in '23 we were going to face Wake Forest one way or the other.

Priorities, man. I’m on a mission to protect the English language. The word “literally” is often literally being used to mean the exact opposite of what it means. There are many people who will read this who hold two thoughts: one, that defending the language this way is picayune, and pedantic

If you are genuinely committed to preserving the integrity of the English language, it is important to acknowledge that the term literally has, for many decades, been employed as a rhetorical device to convey emphasis. To state that an individual was "literally" caught lying serves to highlight that the accusation was not merely speculative; rather, it was substantiated with clear evidence, particularly in this instance where no proof of racial slurs was found.

This is the first team in the BK era where the cb room actually feels like an LSU caliber cb room. Huge credit to Raymond for rebuilding that room in just a year. It’s crazy to think just a couple years back we had to take guys from Syracuse to help the cb room. We finally have the dudes on paper that can be 1 on 1 man coverage which is highly important in Blake baker’s scheme

Delane has been a DUDE. He is going to be CB1 to start the season. His ball skills, technique, and fluidity has been very impressive.

Ok Mr funny man - I bet they challenge for the most wins ever by an LSU team. Multiple reports had him better than Skenes in the fall and projecting him as the Friday starter. They also had another reliever that was injured who was good but it slips my mind. The LSU staff wasn’t what they became until Floyd got out of his own head and well, Cooper did what he always did in heating up the last 2 months of the season

Right before he got hurt they started nailing down the rotation. Skenes was going to be the Friday guy. And it looked like Jay was going to put Grant into the shutdown role out of the bullpen. That is why when he got hurt he moved Ty to the bullpen to start the season. I think Grant would have been the main guy out of the bullpen based on how those conversations were taking place after he got injured.

Very likely he transitions back to the rotation as a starter at some point when Hurd started struggling. But Jay has been a very big proponent of having one of his best arms come out of the pen to shut things down.

Why does everyone think when a kid hits the portal it's because they are selfish or are seeking instant gratification. Plenty of kids see the writing on the wall that they path to playing time is non-existent or very narrow. Plenty of kids just want to maximize their chance to play in the small window they have.

First of all, you're right—it's not every single player who enters the transfer portal. But let's be honest: the vast majority are chasing instant gratification. My original comment was in response to Jay's point about 'buying in,' and if you can't recognize the growing issue of entitlement among players today, then there's really nothing I can say to change your mind. Your reply completely misses the point. Of course it's not every kid—but it's a widespread problem in college sports, and pretending otherwise is just willful ignorance

Literally?

So you're just here to troll. Instead of engaging with the actual question I asked, you chose to fixate on a single word I used. That kind of behavior is exactly what's wrong with online discourse today—it's petty, unproductive, and exhausting.

Still can't believe we did not win it all that year. It was LSU's for the taking.

It was a huge disadvantage for us when the wind changed that year. However, the wind changing and blowing in during the '23 season worked in our favor. It evens itself out.

I will be curious to see what the wind does this year. If it starts blowing in hard I would expect that to work in our advantage as well with our pitching staff.
I am actually excited about the DB room this year. Have some studs and Pickett is an extremely talented Freshman. We should actually have gotten that solved this offseason.
Need to win a game or two before you can expect the Coaches to roll in.

Yes, but why the deadline of the next ten years?

I'm guessing he or a family member is old so the next 10 years increases their odds of seeing it happen in their lifetime...that just a guess but I was with you I didn't see any other reason to put a deadline on it unless its based upon them wanting to witness it.
I'm really not hating, but what did she win Sportswoman of the year for? She really has not been that good and was literally caught lying about racial slurs being thrown her way after she literally had a meltdown over a foul.
I struggle to understand the mindset of many young adults and athletes today. There seems to be a strong sense of entitlement, even when nothing has been earned. Instead of prioritizing teamwork and selflessness, the focus is often on individual wants and needs. If my child behaved this way, I would feel disappointed as a parent.

I was raised to push through challenges, no matter how difficult, because perseverance builds true character. That’s the same lesson we are teaching our children, with the hope that when they face adversity in college or their careers, they won’t simply walk away when things don’t go their way. Commitment and resilience are essential qualities, and I believe they shape a person’s success in the long run. I find it reassuring that Jay does not play into those games and treats it the same way. Buy all in whether its going your way or not.

You're acting like people were talking shite on your son all year when I can assure you that was not the case because 98% of people on this board don't know your son exists

I don't think I saw a single person start a thread to make a negative comment. I saw one comment in a game thread about Preister not being ready or something to that effect that this poster took negatively. But for the most part I have not seen a single bad thing mentioned about him.

shite, I saw a lot more negative comments about Eyanson then I did Priester. And Eyanson has been a very good pitcher for us this year after some early struggles lmfao. It would have made sense if Eyanson's parents came on this board to respond to those idiots making those negative comments.

Lied. I was in the room. Don’t ever think that is not what was promised. Go find some of the other parents and ask them what Jay promised.

It’s not uncommon for talented players to spend time on the bench throughout a season. The key is to stay committed, work hard, and remain a good teammate—eventually, opportunities come. Expecting to be handed something without earning it is unrealistic and naive. Life isn’t fair, and success requires perseverance. When faced with setbacks, the best approach is to adjust, adapt, and push forward.

In college sports, players may be promised opportunities, but that doesn’t guarantee playing time. More often than not, it comes down to performance. Complaining and searching for others in similar situations doesn’t change that reality. Everyone faces struggles, and quitting when things don’t go as planned isn’t an option in the real world. That mindset doesn’t prepare players for life beyond sports.

I have no issues with Priester and wish him the best, but entitlement doesn’t lead to success. Understanding how the world works is an important lesson that you should be teaching.
Kudos to them. It is a fantastic storyline in the CWS.

I pray that no new recruit or parents of a recruit ever read this shite. I am glad my son is getting away from your toxic crap. I pray I never have to look at this again.

Aren't you the same poster who lied and said Jay promised Priester the Catcher position and 3-4 hole spot when he wasn't catching? Yeah, that DID not happen. And don't pay attention to the minority on this board. Its a fan forum get over it. Most don't actually shite on players, they get frustrated with the results not the player. Now there are some and again the loud minority who shite on players but those should be ignored, not used as an example to not be at the program lmfao.
