In the 2 biggest financial sports ( football and men’s basketball), he flopped. There may be some explanations but he still flopped.

The rest of the sports at LSU, saw incredible success. He hired 3 coaches that won 4 national championships in 4 years.

I am old enough to remember. Alleva, Dean and Maddox were bad.

Broadhead had some great hires but micromanaged and ticked everyone off. Skip hires were unimpressive but he enormously significant in transforming from a backwards failing state run athletic department into the modern TAF successful one we see today.

I understood he enrolled in school on his visit last week just in case .

Recruiting and transfer portal is not for everyone.

It’s like a rollercoaster. There are ups and downs. It can be fast or slow. You be riding with people you don’t want to be with ( sources, media etc.)

You aren’t going to have every definitive answer in 10 seconds. There will be good and bad info to sift through. There will be ups and downs.

Believe it or not, Saban to LSU was mixed feelings. He came with a .500 record and was being paid a million dollars which was unprecedented for its time.

Woodward hired 3 national champion coaches that have won 4 titles in 4 years….baseball, gymnastics and women’s basketball.

It didn’t work out but, you do realize Kelly was the sitting and winningest coach of Notre Dame and the entire country when he was hired.

Woodward’s predecessors have done far worse.

“Be careful what you ask for cause sometimes you get it”.

Kelly said he is invaluable because Chester can play all positions on the oline and is willing to help the team in any way possible.

Kelly is spot on. Chester is invaluable when there are injuries on the oline.
