Cox? AT&T?

Cable? Fiber?

What are you paying?

My options are line of sight internet or Elon internet.

Starlink is insanely good if you're not somewhere you can get fiber.

The dumbest thing I appreciate about this internet is that the dish has a heater plate built into it so when it freezes, you don't lose internet. I don't notice any issues even while it's storming.

AT&T Fiber is solid although they sell you on the discounted rates up front but end up bumping your bill up to the normal rate after only a couple of months

Maybe not applicable to your location but I switched to T Mobile 5G 2 years ago and it's been great so far for $40/mo.

AT&T fiber, I think it's $90/month. No complaints or rarely any issues. All the people in my neighborhood with Cox constantly have issues/outages.

We've also got Starlink at the camp and it too has been flawless. If you're in an area with little/no options Starlink is the way to go.

AT&T 1 gig at our main house for $90/mo. Includes HBOgo or max or whatever it is these days.
Ben Lomand 1 gig fiber at our river house for $58/mo, but it's a subsidized non-profit co-op, vs AT&T in the city. Specific to a small area of Tennessee.

Neither have had any issues outside of things not in their control.

I have comcast dedicated business fiber at my business. It's been fine once they finally got it installed. Only took them 18 months to get it up and going

REV fiber (300 Mbps, $55/month) - southeast BR. Switched from ATT cable which did not have fiber optic service in my area but now do.

No complaints with ATT, it was reliable and the price between ATT and REV is comparable. But with REV being a south-central LA owned company when you call for service or an issue you are going speak with a local employee in south LA and not with a person at a call center in India. For me, that alone was worth the switch.

One of my closest friends has this at his place near Sewanee.

Burb of Memphis and I have had AT&T fiber for several years. I've only had issues a 3-4 times and 2 of those is because I accidentally cut the fiber to my house. They came and fixed it no questions asked.

AT&T 1Gb fiber and totally reliable versus Cox.
The gas company broke the line and the AT&T field guys had it fixed within 1.5 hrs. They also verified the connection speed showing it was the same before the gas company screw-up.

We have this. Used to be $65/mo to start. Have larger house, so got a few extenders (WiFi doesn’t pass through brick very well) so that adds $10. Initial promo ran up, so $65 bumped to $80 and now $90, plus the $10 extenders charge. It’s $100/mo now

Great internet though, never have issues. We also don’t have the lowest tier, don’t remember the specifics.

Mine is 100 bucks thru spectrum. It’s incredibly fast and I can get a WiFi signal pretty much anywhere on my 6 acres. I keep thinking 100 bucks a month is robbery but I don’t have a landline or any other TV subscription so whatever

only issue is when the power goes out

$100/mo seems like a lot. But putting it into perspective helps rationalize it. It’s worth much more than that, especially if you work from home.

Still wouldn’t preclude me from switching if something comparable saved me $25/mo.
