hey, dos.... Fedora won 12 games in his 4th (FOURTH) year at USM... meaning that was entirely his team. To say he can't recruit is just ludicrous. Ellis Johnson was the train wreck that followed, not lack of players

I said TWO different coaches won ONE game in two years after he left. Is Todd Monken a bad coach? Ellis Johnson ruined that program for three years coaching it ONE? I think not. Fedora's only successful season was that ONE year. He lost 5 to 6 games every year before. So is that success or an anomaly?

Please tell me. You think it's good he has four losses against unranked teams the last two seasons?(which are his best seasons at unc) how about the 35-3 drubbing by vetch?

Are you good with him losing to South Carolina and Georgia the past two years? You are hiring him to win the s.e.c. not the worst division in power 5 football. you are Hiring him to win in The BEST division in power 5 football.

People are against PJ Fleck for not beating anyone?

On the surface it sounds absurd. But he has created a new market value for DCs. What he has done with our D this year is amazing. Just go back and rewatch our D against the number one team in the land this year. Even with our limitations on offense we would have beaten any other team besides Bama that night. He will be worth it!

he is a great coach...but lots of dc's will look good with LSU's talent. shite Wisconsin has far less talent and is still playing great defense.

Les wanted him the year before
This proves that Les has an eye for defensive coordinators. He's brought in some studs. Les deserves some serious credit for that, IMO.

I just wish he could do the same on the other side of the ball.

He did have some great DC's. He also went with co-dc's which was a terrible idea. Also hired Kevin Steele who no one was impressed with at the time of hire nor during or after the season. Luckily he left and went to Auburn or this year would have been worse.

Agreed. That co defensive coordinator experiment was an epic fail. But he did want Aranda over Steele last year.

You literally just paraphrased a thread that was posted two days ago... either you guys have the same 'source' or you're getting your info from a private board

You're also the same guy that started a thread bitching about someone selling lsu tickets to an Alabama fan so makes me think you're 12 which also leads me to believe you don't know shite... I'm not saying your 'info' is wrong, I just think you're full of it

It just seems like you regurgitated and summarized everything that's been said here in the last two weeks

You could say the same thing about Fleck.

I'm not saying Fedora is the most desirable hire, but I'm surprised you're being so critical of his record considering how much you've defended Fleck's record on here.

Fedora would be a solid hire. Jimbo, Chip Kelly, and in my opinion Herman would all be home run hires. Fedora is one grade below them.

His staff outside of a few looks like a whole lot of meh. Would expect his staff to be much better. Honestly I cannot see but 2 that would say would be good carry overs to LSU.

You do realize Neither Saban or Miles won their division before coming to LSU?
The fact that he nearly won the ACC last year with a basketball first school is amazing.
His Southern Miss team that went 12-2 had a mass exodus of players that left with him. The team was depleted the following season.

Nobody vouching for Fedora is saying he is the greatest coach ever, but if Jimbo is unattainable, then he would be a great hire.
If you think otherwise, then you probably don't know much about football.
His offense would work well and given the resources he would hire a great defensive coordinator because the dude wins games.

If you are expecting a coach to win 10 games a year at Norrh Carolina or he is a bad coach then you are a moron

So its Jimbo or O?

Why are we throwing in the towel on Herman? You guys are giving Texas too much credit. Sure Texas is a top 5 job, but so is LSU and we're set up to win now, whereas UT is years away from contending.

Jimbo
Herman

Petrino
(about 10 others)
Aranda
Coach O

The difference is Fleck has had the top recruiting class in his conference for four years. Fedora, nope. Fleck built a program from the doormat up. Fedora? nope. Southern Miss was a very good mid major program prior to his arrival. They had beaten Alabama, Ole Miss, and Auburn prior to his arrival.

UNC has had success in the past under Mack Brown and Butch Davis. This isn't a doormat program. For many years it was the second best program in the A.C.C.

He scares me the most of all the candidates. The life line to college football is recruiting. The fact he left southern miss in the shambles it was in with winning a total of four games in three years is a HUGE red flag to me. It's like Archer, signs of poor recruiting. Is he a decent technical coach, yes. so was archer.

He is having success the past two years beating James Madison, Pitt, Duke, Illinois, Wake Forest, Virginia, Miami, Citadel etc. None of those teams are having success. And, he's still losing three games a year.

Not a bad plan, but given the reservations I have with O, I'd probably take Fedora over him.

I hope Kelly just isn't in play for anyone, that would have been nice as well. Would hate to see us get Fedora or O and Kelly head back to Oregon or something similar.

I like Fleck, I'm guessing his age is just a factor. I'd take him over both Fedora and O. And if we were going to go young, Aranda was probably the better hire.

UNC was on probation idiot

Put any other coach in his shoes and I promise the results would not be any better.
