3. If Herman does want Aranda as a DC, why do assume he would leave for a lateral move?
I try not to assume anything, but there are some who see it as a concern based on nothing more than their prior relationship. Aranda will likely decide to do what's best for his long term goals. If his goal is to end up a head coach, he'll likely stay at LSU for a couple seasons where he can see quicker success with Fisher, and wait for an HC offer. If he's not as concerned about becoming an HC and wants to build a dynasty from scratch, he may choose to go to Texas with his old roommate. I don't think money will be a problem either way. But there I go assuming again.

Yes....
His record as head coach is fantastic at the schools he has been
Please elaborate upon why he is not a good coach?

If we land Fisher and retain Aranda we will be in the playoff in more than two years.

1. yet
2. there can't be more than 3-4 schools that wouldn't want Dave Aranda as a DC right now
3. If there were any school that would have a chance to pull him it'd be Texas with Tom Herman. They could match his pay and maybe he'd like Austin better than BR, or maybe if we end up with O he'd rather work with someone like Tom Herman instead.

What is there prior relationship though? I saw an article come out about them being roommates for a short time. But thats it. Are they really good friends? Have they ever coached together? Does anyone know?
Just feel like people have taken that article and have created some type of paranoia about this whole thing.

Fedora has a much better resume than Saban did in 2000. Just saying

Really just making a joke at your expense. You know with your avatar and all. Fedora is just OK imo. Wouldn't be excited at all.

Aranda slept on his coach after he went on a bender for a weekend.

If we can't land Fisher
I would 100% rather Dan Mullen or Larry Fedora than keeping Ed fricking Orgeron.
Both have been successful head coaches and with the money they would have to hire coordinators, nothing leads me to believe they would not hire the best available defensive coordinator if Aranda left

true, but I feel like the fans feel this way more than Aranda. no one knows what Aranda's feelings or long term intentions are. LSU should make him the highest paid DC next year and that should squash all of this.
Now being a head coach or moving on to the NFL is different.

Must of been one heck of a bender if he slept on his coach.

Money isn't everything, look at everyone convinced that Coach O could pull in Kiffin. If people think that's a possibility I'd think that Aranda to Texas with Herman would be as well.

If this is true, what are they saying about other position coaches? I'm sure he would want to keep Raymond since he tries to hire him every year, and Craig since they worked together before. Hopefully he brings in Tim Brewster.

The negotiations include keeping Aranda for around $2 Mil,
as assistant making 2 mill? that is absurd

If Larry Fedora is the next LSU coach, Joe Alleva should be fired before the ink is dry on Larry's contract.
Fedora would wreck shop at LSU, and fans would fall in love with his offenses.

I expect it will all be announced at the same time, including o-coordinator. I'm told assistants are part of the terms being discussed.

Fedora: 34-19 at Southern Miss Conference title his last year. Two different coaches won one game in two years following his departure. Recruiter he is not. 73-42 at UNC Played for conference title, Lost to the worst South Carolina team in 10 years, did not beat one team that finished in the top 25. 2016 lost to the worst Georgia team in 15 years. 6-3 all three losses to unranked teams
So, he doesn't do well against s.e.c. teams. Let's hire him.
