Heupel, Elko and Lanning are not on the list. They would not leave where they are at for LSU or any other college program.

re: ProSENDR is Legit

I have the one posted and HackMotion. The prosendr knockoff works. However, especially with the updates over the last year HackMotion tells you so much more about what’s going on. They continue to make it better. And it gives you drills with real time feedback. If you’re just a casual golfer who wants to stop cupping your wrist, sure the one posted will help you get the feel. HackMotion will also tell you if your casting, inside/outside takeaway and more. It’s for a more serious golfer. Both have their place depending on what your goal is.
For me I put it just a hair higher than the grass. Basically make it sitting just in top of the grass. I tend to catch my irons a little thin on my misses. So this help eliminates that. Any higher, and I hit it too high on the face.

True but you can and should practice both. You don’t have to exclusively practice full irons and driver. I know that’s not what you are saying and I’m not trying to put those words in your mouth. But you need to practice all parts of your game whether you are brand new are a scratch golfer. Most people aren’t in shape enough to go bang out 150-200 full swings in a range sessions anyways, especially this time of year. And if you have an Inefficient swing your going too tire out even faster. Let’s say you can get close to the green in two. But if your skulling your pitch shots and Sending them to 10 yards off the green on the other side. Then 4 putting your still scoring high. Everything needs to be practiced. Every golfer benefits from being closer to the hole off the tee and every golfer benefits from improving their short game. You need both.

Try it. I have a 8 year old. He loves golf and we hit on the simulator most days. I tried teaching him but he got burnt out. So I started him on operation 36. So every hole is 25 yards for 9 holes. Once he shoots 36 or better he moves to 50 yards… he’s obsessed with trying to get to level 2. All I do is work on his grip and get him feeling like he’s shifting his weight forward. At that age find something they enjoy and roll with it. If he likes top golf do that. Don’t put him in front of someone that’s too technical.

I know Ted personally. He is fine. As stated he is dealing with a family matter. He and his family could use prayers right now.
Have you hit the latest generations of Gi irons? Specifically Callaway Ellyte? I switched from a zx7 to them earlier this year. Off centered strikes still go just about the same distance as a flushed strike. They do not end up way right or left. You can shape them how you want. Hit high or low… really an incredible iron. Looks good, feels great. Honestly I don’t ever see the need to go back to a players iron. And I have not had 1 flyer yet. Extremely consistent.

Play it often. It’s been in great shape all year. Played a couple of weeks ago and was in really good shape. Greens are in great shape.

I have a BLP I use it on the range as well. I focus on working on club data. Don’t pay much attention to the ball data when hitting range balls.
I had Zx7’s and got fit for Elytes. I love not getting punished when I miss hit. The way I look at it is i play a club down. 7 iron carries 190 but has 6000 spin and a descent angle of around 49. I play it as a 6 iron. Added an extra vokey wedge to keep the distances on the lower end. The fitter I went too is a plus handicap and hits elytes. GI’s have come a long ways since I last played them. But play the iron you like the most and improves you game the most.
I’m currently hitting a Ping G440 LST and G440 max fairway Woods. They are great.

I can not say enough about how good the Callaway Elyte irons are. I was playing ZX7’s. They are the same size as a players iron. Held them next to the ZX7’s and they are the same. You can’t tell they are game improvement. They feel soft and are extremely forgiving. They are really consistent distance wise. I’ve been playing these since February and I haven’t had a single flier. They are fantastic. You can shape them however your want. Draw, fade, high low. Just easy to hit and easy to control. But yes, get fit. It doesn’t cost you any extra. No reason not too. What works for me may not work for you.

I always focus on the ball. For me I focus on keeping my head still in the back swing and shifting my weight forward just before I reach the top of my back swing. I’m assuming aiming for a spot in front of the ball is doing the same for you. I’d do it for fairway woods if it’s helping your irons. You want to slightly hit down on your fairway woods. Play with it. Maybe not focus as far in for of the ball for fairway woods. It’s all about whatever feel works for you and gets you in position.

Thanks for the responses. I caught my head and figured it would be more trouble than it’s worth lol

Golf simulator rentals

Posted by LSUfreak1459 on 6/20/25 at 4:52 am
So I’ve been thinking about renting out golf simulators. I have a BLP and everything. Just would need a projector and blow up enclosure. There is no one that does it in my area. I’ve looked across the country and it seems $200/hour is the going rate. I’d be happy with $300-400/day. Could even try and do benefit scrambles. Setup and do long drive competitions or closest to the hole. Idk a few bucks for so many swings. I would just test the waters first maybe even switch it to a Mevo plus if it gets rented enough for those with lefties. The inflatable enclosure is $1500 on amazon. So initial price would be fairly low. Even if it doesn’t workout I could use that enclosure at home when my friends come over and for our church events or school events. Not looking to make a living off of it just to increase the golf budget and have a little extra spending cash. Thoughts? Could even start with just a net and a tv and see how it goes and charge a little less just to test it out. That what I use at home outside.
That’s GSPRO. I have it. It is listed as Georgia Golf Club. The recently remade the course and it looks fantastic.

Really? I haven’t had any issues.

re: Backyard Net Mat Setup

Posted by LSUfreak1459 on 6/5/25 at 11:20 am to
My mat now is on concrete. Before I had it on st Augustine but in a flat spot. The grass dies quickly. Another option like you mentioned is a wooden platform. That’s my plan this summer. Get off the concrete. There’s a spot that’s shaded all day in my yard. Plan on building a deck. May make a 6’x12’ building with two big doors that open up to put an impact screen and projector. My mat would be outside and I’d hit into the shed. Shed would be just to protect the impact screen and projector. I’ll start with the deck and go from there.
Make sure your spot is in the shade. I learned quick how fast an iPad/iPhone or laptop overheats this time of year when in sunlight.

I second this. I started with a Garmin R10. When used with rct balls it’s pretty accurate on distance. Left to right is a little iffy sometimes but it’s in the ballpark most of the time. Plus it give you the option to do more with simulator golf. It’s not a bad unit to start. I never really trusted the club data on it. Swing speed is accurate but not much else from my experience. I use raw hide mats. Bought a used one a couple of years ago. Getting to where it needs to be changed out. Probably just going to hit a hitting strip from an expensive mat and cut a slot for it. Only be about $100. Going to test it out shortly.

re: Sportsbox AI

Posted by LSUfreak1459 on 6/1/25 at 9:34 pm to
It’s an AI coaching app. You put your screen facing you. It detects you and lets you know when to swing. Then it gives you feedback. So many metrics. But it tells you your faults and then has drills for you to do to fix the issues. You do the drills in front of the camera and it lets you know if you’re doing it right. It has quite a bit in the app. It’s good stuff.
If you’re close to Lafayette Wartelle would be great for that.
Did you get the core or the pro model? I have the core. Thought about upgrading to the pro but not sure if I will yet. I tend to not do well with too much data. Had a Mevo plus and tried to get all the numbers where they should be and then lost the ability to hit a golf ball. Sold it got back on track and now I have a BLP. Just enough data to see what’s going on but not too much to get lost in everything.
