That’s not as much as I was thinking. Still quite a bit. And not something lsu is required to do. Period. They can just continue paying him monthly for 6 years and force him to follow his contract like he agreed to do. Kelly agreed to it. Why is everyone attacking lsu?

He wants close to it yes. Some numbers being thrown around is. I’ve heard 50 million. That’s close. And doesn’t want to do what he agreed to when he signed the contract.

The cause stuff is probably just behind closed doors negotiations that Kelly decided to make very public. It’s all negotiation tactics. Basically saying “Hey, take the 27 million because you’re lucky to get that considering X, y, z.” What that X, y, z is idk, but Kelly is the one playing hard ball people. He wants all of his money instantly and doesn’t want to do what he agreed to do when he signed the contract. I was shocked when I saw the narrative that was being painted. It’s a narcissism tactic.

Yeah, the fired for cause stuff LSU needs to stop. I say just pay him his money until he finds another job. We’re not required to give him a lump sum.

Yeah, he wants his cake and to eat it too. That’s what the media is missing here. He wants his full buyout and he wants a new contract in another job. He wants things he’s not entitled to. At least that’s what I’m understanding. If we’re OK with just paying him his contract until he gets another job, then what is LSU doing wrong? I don’t know. There’s a lot of unanswered stuff.

That’s why I’m lost. Is that what Kelly is wanting? Because that’s not what he’s entitled to. He is entitled to his pay though. As long as there’s not cause.

Apparently they’re still paying him? I don’t even know wtf is going on anymore. And I’m starting to not care.
Not saying any of this is true at all, but I imagine it’s not saying a public reassignment. He would have still been the HC publicly, but only as a figurehead. I guess that’s what he’s saying. Then once the ducks are in a row, fully fire him. So essentially make him a dead man walking. But Woody just fired him. Again, not saying it’s true at all, but I imagine that’s what the post is referring to.

It’s so baffling to me that LSU would fight this battle and cost the university so much. It just makes me feel like things are worse than what they appear. And they appear bad already. Maybe they didn’t think Kelly would go public. I don’t know.
It’s beyond just refusing the offer now. There’s threats back and forth. I want to know what lsu has to say on what threats they’re making and why. That’s what’s missing.

I feel like LSU is just being complete morons, or there’s pieces that we’re missing.
Tennessee recently went through this. It is what it is. Everyone needs to chill out and let the process play out. It will get ugly before it gets better.

The contract is not for the full amount in a lump sum. They didn’t agree to that.
