I went to Paris about 25 years ago and the only thing you had to worry about was snooty French people. Went again 15 years later and was shocked how it had been overtaken by rude middle eastern men. Communism creeping up inside Germany is also what ruined Germany's chances in ww1. it was largely supported by Jews. Its why Hitler and the socialist party later pushed communism out and why they blamed the Jews for the downfall of Germany.
Normal every day Germans had to make a choice between anti-establishment communism and Germany first socialism. And without knowing how crazy/evil Hitler would become , you can see why the people were so excited to see someone pushing back against the commies.
