It's pretty obvious that one of Ed Orgeron's top quarterback targets for the 2019 class is four-star pro-style passer Grant Gunnell from Houston, TX.

So much that Orgeron said he would bring Mike VIII to his signing ceremony if he inks with the Tigers. Per SEC County:
quote:

“He said if I commit, he’ll bring the tiger down to my signing day,” Gunnell said, with a chuckle.

The tiger, of course, is Mike the VIII (formerly Harvey), which officially became LSU’s mascot in August 2017. Gunnell — admitting that it’s highly unlikely that Orgeron would pull off such a stunt — said it’s not the only way he knows he’s the top priority for LSU’s 2019 quarterback recruiting.

“I text with him every other day, probably,” Gunnell said. “He’s texting my parents like every morning. He’s a great guy.”
Gunnell, who is currently committed to Texas A&M, is the nation's top pro-style quarterback for the class of 2019.

He gave his verbal pledge to former Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin and it is believed that new head coach Jimbo Fisher might want to recruit dual-threat QB instead, which doesn't sit well with Gunnell.
quote:

“It’s kind of messing with my head, so I’m not really sure,” Gunnell said. “If you want to offer pro-style, it’s different. It’s not the competition. If he wants dual-threat, I’m not going to be able to play for him.”

Don’t worry, kid. It isn’t the only thing he’ll promise you that he can’t deliver.

He would probably try then LSU compliance would shoot him down.

"He’s a great guy". No he's not. He is a Yaw Yaw, shrimp boat captain, incompetent human that knows nothing about football. He knows less about football than at least 80% of the Rant. Geaux Tigers!

and you're a hoho a-hole whose parents are still pissed about for not using protection. Seriously, ask them.

lmao, you've never met coach O but you know him better than someone who talks to him every day?

Happy for the kid. But what is LSU's goal at quarterback. Same thing every year no direction for the offense. Just one question, How many of these fancy pro-style quarterbacks have beaten Saban in the last 7 years?
Reply6 months
So cute you'll never get him tho. His family is all hog. Only reason he dodnt commit before was because he hated enos offense and the way fatbert handeled rafe peavey. Now that weve got morris weve got gunnel. We get good qbs you get trash

Are you mentally challenged? I’m seriously asking because you read like an imbecile.....

Pro style has nothing to do with it. Mettenberger went ham on them when he played them several years back then Lesticles lost his nuts, went conservative, then lost the game because of it. They struggle more on dual threats for sure but a great player is a great player. Anyone can beat Bama if they're really good. Mettenberger that night could make any throw regardless what the coverage was from Bama and they still lost the game thanks to Leslie.

How does Arky still finish 4th at best in the West every year if they supposedly get good qbs?.

“I text with him every other day, probably,” Gunnell said. “He’s texting my parents like every morning“ This just seems so weird. I could never recruit these kids. Who even wants to be texted every day like this?
Reply6 months
Yeah, I agree. However, these kids nowdays live on social media and need to "feel the love". It is different from even just 15 years ago. It seems so fake but it is how things are done in today's crazy world.

This generation only knows how to text and use social media. They fail at interaction and typical conversation. In their eyes, talking to someone is old school.

I'm sure Derek is probably the one doing all of the texting.

As Bob Barker would say, "Come on down..."

Build Mike VII a BIGGER cage 10- 12 ft wide and half a semi long to cross Stadium Drive and let’s see him charge the sides and roar like the Mikes before and maybe just maybe the fans and players will get fired up and opposing teams shite in their pants like the ole days
Reply6 months
If he goes to signing day he better be in that damn cage on the sideline every game. That's all I'm saying
Reply6 months
you realize LSU doesnt have a choice in this right? if it was ruled we were forcing the tiger to go to the sideline despite it being bad for its health and causing it anxiety we wouldnt be allowed to have a live tiger mascot anymore

I have a hard time seeing Dr. Baker signing off on that.
Reply6 months
If O promotes Ensminger to OC then he probably won't be here after next season so Dr. Baker won't have to sign off on anything!

Frick Dr Baker. Put the fricking tiger in the Travel cage. At least once a fricking season.
6 months
Can we get a discount on sending Alleva and Dr. Baker packing at the same time? The tiger in the visitor's tunnel was always a huge part of the mystique of visitors coming to Tiger stadium to play.

This kid has Aggie written all over him. O's just wasting time.

You do understand that offensive philosophy changes could altar things right? Its a pretty easy concept.
6 months
Did you even read the article?

It's Mike VII you dumb frick
Reply6 months
Could be Mike VIII by the time this kid signs.
6 months
Thank you. Obviously, non Tigers printing this crap!

O being O. Can only imagine some of the things he can say, at anytime.
Reply6 months
O will bring the costumes Like the Tiger mascot instead!

I like it, PETA won’t, which makes me like it even more.

Google “PETA operates kill shelters”. They’re such hypocrites.

All the more reason to do it.
