Ed Orgeron Has Unique Offer For 2019 Texas A&M QB Commit Grant Gunnell

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports
It's pretty obvious that one of Ed Orgeron's top quarterback targets for the 2019 class is four-star pro-style passer Grant Gunnell from Houston, TX.
So much that Orgeron said he would bring Mike VIII to his signing ceremony if he inks with the Tigers. Per SEC County:
He gave his verbal pledge to former Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin and it is believed that new head coach Jimbo Fisher might want to recruit dual-threat QB instead, which doesn't sit well with Gunnell.

“He said if I commit, he’ll bring the tiger down to my signing day,” Gunnell said, with a chuckle.
The tiger, of course, is Mike the VIII (formerly Harvey), which officially became LSU’s mascot in August 2017. Gunnell — admitting that it’s highly unlikely that Orgeron would pull off such a stunt — said it’s not the only way he knows he’s the top priority for LSU’s 2019 quarterback recruiting.
“I text with him every other day, probably,” Gunnell said. “He’s texting my parents like every morning. He’s a great guy.”

“It’s kind of messing with my head, so I’m not really sure,” Gunnell said. “If you want to offer pro-style, it’s different. It’s not the competition. If he wants dual-threat, I’m not going to be able to play for him.”
