You need to be able to separate politics from sports. Having the President come watch your team play is cool no matter how you feel about him personally. When I was in undergrad Bill Clinton visited my school and gave a speech. Though I didn't agree with him politically I still went out to see the event, even shaking his hand when given the opportunity.
