One major trip a year or several smaller trips per year

What is your preference? One trip in the $8-10k range or multiple $2,500 trips each year?

This one for sure. We move fast, and pack a lot into our days. So sometimes 3-4 days is all we need.

Im getting to the point where I really do not like being away for more than a week. I like my bed, I like being caught up at work, I like my home, etc lol.
One exception is overseas. I will not take a 10+ hour flight for less than 10 days away. This, of course, is a 1 in every 5 or so years trip for us.

If I can’t have both, I would prefer to alternate. Multiple short trips for a year in which I just need breaks. One long trip if it’s a year I want to get out of my comfort zone and really travel.
If I only got to pick one forever, it would be one big trip per year, but I wouldn’t be happy about it.

My wife seems to think the answer is all of the above.

I try to take as many and go as big as possible, but to answer your question, if I had to choose, I would take the one big one.

I try to do one big trip towards the end of the year and several smaller trips throughout the year. A lot of time it's just a short weekend trip and maybe take a Monday off to reset when I get back.

I'm a 3-4 day weekend 3-4 time a year kind of guy right now.
When kids get older maybe we'll take on bigger trips, but for now 3 nights away from home is enough.

Big trip. It's harder to coordinate schedules of older kids, even during the summer, for international travel. Stateside attractions can take place during spring break, etc.

I prefer the variety. I can't do a 10+ day trip yearly, and honestly as said before I've been on 14-20 day trips and after around day 12-15 you are often ready to be home.
I'm terrible about stressing about the trip almost being over though and taking my mind completely off work/ life to be able to relax. So I have a hard time on 3-4 day trips taking my mind completely off things. Its nice to be gone a week or longer to fully decompress.

I work while we travel, so we normally travel about 60 days a year. Multiple smaller trips

I'm fortunate enough to generally be able to take 1 two week international trip a year, along with several shorter domestic trips. If i had to choose, I'd do as another poster said and alternate ever other year or something.

I suppose that there are pros and cons for both. How long are the trips? I’m one of the people who needs at least 10 days to completely relax on a vacation. A week feels rushed to me, especially if we have activities planned.
