Maybe I live in a bubble. My wife and I have continued to get steady raises over the last two years and have even started new jobs after being recruited to go to greener pastures. We bought a house last year.

Things have gotten mildly expensive for us but the idea things are worse the last two years than they have been the last 6 isn’t true for us. Gas is a little more expensive but at Costco it’s like $3.50-$4 a gallon. Hardly earth shattering especially given the covid era cratered gas prices to artificially low levels.

I guess I’m shocked that even this board seems fed up with Trump. I’m not exactly a fan of his but I’ve held my nose and voted conservative because I’m not down with socialism at all.

I guess I just look outside and I just don’t see all the despair I see online and the news. But to be fair I basically never read or listen to political except election night like tonight.

It didn’t get any better. Anyone who says it has is lying to themselves. Trump promised everything and delivered nothing.

Again, it's not about gas...it's about diesel and its impact on literally everything you spend money on.

Wait until 2028 when Dems control it all. Then back to printing, spending, more government… then boom. DEFAULT

is one of the dumbest countries on the planet and it’s about to be on fire.

We never recovered from the inflation covid brought. And then we added tarrifs without doing away with income taxes and high gas prices on top of it. Shits expensive out there, baw.

It’s definitely no worse than it was under Biden but it’s not better either. Trump is a just a retard that sold us out. That’s why people are sick of him

I’m no fan of Trump I’ve just had no issues with him the last 2 years. If things stay moderately the same that’s all I can ask for. Government will never ever make your life better no matter how hard they pull those levers conservative or liberal.

All I ask is they stay out of my way. Well they’re about to be all up in our shite trying to fix everything. So congrats all.

I think it’s the gaslighting by the president about Iran that really pissed people off. That and 6 dollar gas fricking sucks

This. More about affordability. We had the Trump/Biden inflation. Then Trump added tariffs. Then Trump added a war(gas/diesel).. People are tired of this shat. This wasn't done by Congress. This is on Trump.

I run through about 2500 gallons of diesel a week right now. My input costs just on fuel have gone up 6k a week and 24k a month. It’s unsustainable.

I wouldn't go that far. But it isn't enough to make people happy. People have short memories.

You clearly haven’t paid attention to what farmers and business owners have gone through with the tariffs.

Correct .

Im fortunate to live and work overseas where I do pretty well.. but from what I can see (outside looking in), as well as insight from family/friends back home and just keeping up a varied news diet from different sources- there's not much of a middle class anymore in America .. It's the upper middle class & wealthy.. and much lower middle class & working poor & broke/poor/struggling to stay housed..... used to be the majority were somewhere in the middle, now way way more extremes .

I actually haven’t listened to Trump speak in 2 years. It’s much more pleasant that way.

And you think democrats won’t make gas so unaffordable people just go to EVs by default?

Democrats are gonna make gas cheaper???

Yes. Basically every gain I've made in raises the last several years has been eaten up by inflation and then some. And I make good money. Gas/diesel prices make everything more expensive in general. Interest rates make it difficult or impossible to consider buying a new house. And what's worse is, Trump/GOP leadership barely seem to care. They minimize it or barely talk about it. Regular families are struggling and Trump's response is to minimize the problem or double down, and put his thumb on the scale for weak candidates in the primaries that got railroaded last night in the general elections.

Perception is reality. The press has covered the economy at about a 98-99% negative rate.

E.g., whereas oil was >$100/bbl 83 days in Biden's first 2yrs, it's been >$100/bbl 24 days during Trump's second term (0 in his first term). The inflation differential was even more striking. Yet Biden received just 32% negative coverage overall vs 92% negative for Trump. Biden received 26% positive coverage. Trump ~1%.

The pro-leftist media propaganda clearly had an effect on GOP turnout.

Congress was already stonewalling everything Trump tried to do. A democratic congress isn't going to fix anything.

We're headed back to open boarders, gay everything, open hostilities on oil and gas, and bankrolling Europe's defense. Did yall forget that sucks?
